A Word From Brenda

I Will Remember You

Let us, then, learn that we can never be
lonely or forsaken in this life. Shall they
forget us because they are "made perfect"?
Shall they love us the less because they
now have power to love us more? If we forget
them not, shall they not remember us with God?
No trial, then, can isolate us, no sorrow can
cut us off from the Communion of Saints.
Kneel down, and you are with them; lift up
your eyes, and the heavenly world, high above
all perturbation, hangs serenely overhead; only a
thin veil, it may be, floats between. All whom
we loved, and all who loved us, whom we still
love no less, while they love us yet more, are
ever near, because ever in His presence in whom
we live and dwell. ~H. E. Manning~

There are so many memories at Christmas time. Some good, some wonderful, and some sad. That's life I guess... full of experiences to be treasured and remembered. I was unpacking my Christmas ornaments, decorating my tree, and couldn't help remember some of the loved ones in my life that have gone on to be with the Lord. I want to remember them. I want to remember the laughter and the smiles. I have a little blue piece of yarn that my Grandmother used to tie her sewing kit closed with. I tie that piece of yarn to a branch every year... and she is here. Pictures of my son in grade school, how he has grown!! I love to look at each ornament as I put them on the tree, taking a moment to remember those people in my life that meant so much to me. We are to find comfort in Gods Word, and in the Presence of His Spirit. When can we experience this more, than in our homes, in the quiet hours... looking at the beautiful lights on the tree!?!
Hebrews 12v.1,2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience (perseverance) the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising (discounting) the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

So Great A Cloud Of Witnesses!! I can just see them, cheering us on! As we face this Christmas season, don't let memories of sadness take away from the joy of the celebration of Christ's birth! The angels filled the Heavens singing "Peace on Earth Good Will Toward Men." As we decorate our homes and prepare for Christmas day... bring Gods presence into your home with worship and songs of praise for the gift He has given to us.

I will remember you, my brother. In every Holiday, and in every special occasion... you are there. I thank God for the memories He allows me to keep close to my heart. For the joy that your memory brings to me. So much laughter... so close, you and I.
~ Merry Christmas ~
