Joseph T. "Joe" Box and "Little" Reedie Joe was born June 1864 to George Washington Box and Polly Anne Tidwell. Polly Anne was one half Indian blood. Joe married Martha F. Whitehead. They were married in the home of Martha's father and mother, Drury Whitehead and Mary Jane Anthony, on March 24, 1887.
Luther F. Box born 20 Sept 1893 to Joseph T. "Joe" Box and Martha F. Whitehead. Luther married Ruth Morris, daughter of Nicodemus F. Morris and Susan Whitehead. After Ruth died he married Effie Meharg.
MY DAD AND MOM Reedie F. Box born February 21, 1917 to Luther F. box and Ruth Morris. He married Ada McCollum August 16, 1936 in Fayette County, Alabama. Ada was born to Thomas Goodwin "Tom" McCollum and Bessie Box. Pictured above Reedie is 16 years old and Ada is 14 years old. Ada was born November 12, 1919. Patsy Anita Box was born March 7, 1942.Their son Tommy F. Box was born December 5, 1954. Reedie died on April 6, 1965 and Ada died on March 18, 2006. They are buried at Tidwell Chapel Cemetery in Fayette County, Alabama.
John "Skinny" Tidwell b: 25 May 1811 d: 1 Nov 1888 and Malinda "Linnie" Armstrong b: Dec 1820 are my ggg-grandparents. My line runs through John and Malinda's child Mary Polly Anne Tidwell (pictured below). Mary Polly Anne Tidwell Box Born around 1836 and died 1934. She married George Washington Box about 1858. Her father was John "Skinny" Tidwell and her mother,Malinda Armstrong, was a full blood Indian. George and Anne are buried at Tidwell Chapel Cemetery, Fayette County, Alabama.
This is my maternal great grandparents, Newman "Captain" McCollum, Mary Phillips Brown, and my grandfather, Thomas Goodwin "Tom" McCollum. Tom's sister, Virginia "Jenny" is pictured by her mother. Newman was born March 24, 1846 and died August 1, 1934. He married Mary Phillips Brown on February 17, 1884 in Fayette County, Alabama. Mary was born June 22, 1852 and died January 16, 1906.
JOSEPH WHITEHEAD
Joseph Whitehead was born January 10, 1810. He married Elizabeth Lacefield on June 12, 1830. Elizabeth was born in 1812. He is my great great grandfather. Joseph and his twin brother, Joshua, were born in Lincoln County, Tennessee to Archibald Whitehead and Nancy Smith who came from North Carolina. They had ten other brother and sisters. They later came down to Fayette County, Alabama. Joseph and Elizabeth are my great great grandparents and a Joseph's brother, Drury Henry Cox Whitehead, is also my great great grandfather. Drury is buried at the Morris Cemetery in Fayette County, Alabama. A new tombstone was put up for them in 1999.
