And you feel really rotten. You feel like you gave in and did a bad thing.
You feel weak and foolish. Sick and maybe a little worried.
You feel guilty.
Three things for you to read and remember:
You are not alone. There are literally hundreds of thousands of self-injurers out there.
You didn't do anything wrong. You coped in the best way that you knew how to. You won't be able to stop self-injuring until you relearn how to survive - right now it's pretty much beyond your (and everyone else's) control..
You are here now. Self-injuring helped you to survive. It may not be the best way to cope, but wihtout it maybe you wouldn't have made it this far.
Hey, most of us have been there. I cut when I found and read the first self-injury pages. It can be a bit overwhelming emotionally
when we dicover we're not alone, and also when we read material that causes us to dwell on the thoughts that cause us to self-injure. However, as somone who has been there, and as someone who cares, I must recommend that you leave my site now. Bookmark the page and
return later when you feel more stable and better able to read these pages.
Find someone to talk to, eMail and instant messengers can be very relieving at times like these!
