My Hero: I'd have to say my mom. She is a very strong, intelligent woman who
has fought to keep her family together through adversity. She shaped who I am
today, and I am proud to be her daughter.
Favorite Music: Most anything except country and rap.
C'mon, be more specific.: Ok, classic rock, reggae, old (70s-80s) heavy metal, hard rock, soft rock,
80's new wave and pop, medieval, classical, irish folk, "alternative", new age, native american,
r&b (classic thru mid-80's), blues, celtic, classic soul, "oldies" (50's-60's), swing, funk, ska,
punk, jazz, parody, techno (multiple genres, mostly hardstyle and house), and as for country and rap, I actually do like specific kinds of each: I like the
old 70's soft rock/country crossover stuff (Alabama, Little River Band) and classic country like
Patsy Cline (shhhh!!) and I like rap only if it makes me laugh (Tone Loc, Will Smith when he was Fresh Prince, Sir Mix-A-Lot).  I still have to be in the right *mood* to listen to it, though.
Longest Friendships: Shaedra Wilbanks (Allen), since 1985 when she was my next-door neighbor in Kona.
We went to our first year of college together (1988-89) and were roommates. She now lives in
Oklahoma with her husband Charley and their four children. I haven't seen her since 1989, but we still
communicate by email and occasionally telephone, like when we call on each others birthdays (almost) every year!
Katie Leighty (Buxton), since 1985 or so, we have a long history, not all of it wonderful, but we recently reconnected and decided to let bygones be bygones, and I was surprised to find out she is now a high school teacher! She lives with her son and husband across town from me.
Brandice Armstrong, since 1985. We were best buds sophomore year in high school, then she moved,
then she came back, and helped me through a very traumatic relationship-ending. She now lives in Iowa with her child and is director of a Planned Parenthood there. She recently got a computer at home, so we've been communicating more via email. I haven't seen her since 1988. :(
I also tracked down our friend Lori
Krems for Brandice, and now we all email each other!
I have recently connected with some other people through email
that I knew in high school: Mike Daniels, who I've known since 1983,
and who moved to the Portland area...we've been out to coffee a couple times.. :) Then he moved again. Then he moved back. :) Now he's gone again, but we still communicate. He actually found me on classmates.com in 2000.
and Crystal Hydro, who I've known since 1983, to name just a few.
Lives with: my Cat Buster
Drives a: 1990 Honda Accord, a gift from my wonderful brother Colen. I lost my 2001 Red Ford Taurus XL Feb 2007 when I was rearended on Hwy 26. I used to drive a 1995 Geo Metro 4 door sedan, 5 speed, PURPLE! :) But I threw a rod throught the engine block summer of 2005. I also owned a light blue Plymouth Minivan.
Favorite Foods: Italian (PASTA!), Chinese, steak, Hawaiian (Noho's RULES!)
(I'm sure theres more, but thats all I can think of)
Perfume: None currently. Can't afford it. Previously Victoria's Secret Love Spell, or Forever Romance, or My Desire. I also recently found a perfume I used to wear a lot called Exclamation, and picked up a bottle, in case a dear friend I know would like me to wear it when we see each other again. :D (previous answer: Changes every few months or so, but recently Chanel No. 5. Also occasionally Body Fantasies Cotton Candy. And sometimes the pheromone oil called Lust In The Dust. ;))
Free time is most often spent: With my friends, in front of the TV, on the computer, planning for SCA events, going out with
friends to karaoke, planning/having parties
Favorite TV Shows (past and current): *BUFFY!!* (I am a COMPLETE addict!), *Angel!!*, *Charmed*, CUPID! Also like Young and the Restless(watched 1981-2001), Twin Peaks (what is this thing I have for shows that ABC dumped?!), The X-Files, That 70's Show, Friends, Roswell, Sabrina, Will and Grace, SNL, Smallville, Tru Calling, Carnivale
Favorite Role-Playing Game: Vampire:The Masquerade. Without a doubt. But I'm willing to give the Buffy and Angel RPGs a chance. :)
Favorite Holiday: Halloween! Then Xmastime.
I smoke: Yes, I smoke! Quit buggin' me. I'll quit eventually. ;) I usually smoke Camels
or Marlboros. I plan to quit when I move to Seattle though, because I will finally not live with other smokers. When I play
Vampire I smoke cloves. Usually only then. And only Sampoerna Extras. (Ok, ok: Djarums once in a while)
Kids?: A beautiful, smart, and amazing 20 year old daughter named Kayla. Quentin and I may not be her biological parents, but we love her just the same.
Favorite Cartoon Character: Betty Boop. And there *is* a story behind that...when
I went to visit my dad for the first time in the summer of '87, my friends back home
decided they were going to nickname each other. Of course, when I got back, I needed
a nickname too. Shaedra and another friend of the time, Dawn, nicknamed me Betty Boop.
Had something to do with my giggle and my "sexiness", they said...Care to answer that
one, Studmuffin? ;)
Favorite Era: The (late) 1960's. It was a time of great upheaval and change, of an innocence lost that began with
the assassination of JFK in 1963. It is interesting to examine the times in their
relationship to rock music. I learned a lot in my History of Rock And Roll class at LCC...But
I think that's another page entirely unto itself. :)
Favorite Soda: It's funny, I say "soda" and people think I'm from Southern California.
They call it soda in Hawaii too, FYI. It was weird coming to Oregon and hearing people say
"pop".  Ie: "Do you want a pop?" Geez, I thought someone was gunna deck me. I used to be
very Coca-Cola loyal, until they screwed with the formula. COKE CLASSIC IS NOT THE
SAME AS OLD COKE!! And you will *never* convince me otherwise.  So I've been a Pepsi drinker.
Except when I drink Barq's or Jolt. I also like Blue Nehi on occasion, but I *really* LOVE
Jones Soda Company's Blue Bubblegum, when I can find it. I told the 7-11 down the street
that they are not *allowed* to discontinue it. :)
Favorite Movie: Dear god, there are so many. I really loved PCU, with Jeremy Piven.
I also liked Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me, Deep Impact, Disturbing Behavior, Titanic,
JFK, Fern Gully:The Last Rain Forest, Rocky Horror, The Lost Boys, Priscilla:Queen Of
the Desert, Tank Girl, Outbreak, The Truman Show, Heavy Metal, The Doors, Heathers,
The Sixth Sense, Go, Mallrats, Interview with the Vampire, Grease,
A Knight's Tale, Josie and the Pussycats, Queen of the Damned, and many others I can't think of at the moment. :)
Favorite Actor: JAMES MARSTERS, who played Spike first on BtVS and then on Angel, he is a really wonderful actor(well, ok, and really hot, too..), who upon meeting in person reduced me to a little puddle of goo, in spite of the fact that he was very sweet and incredibly gracious. Or perhaps because he was. :) Also Jeremy Piven, as mentioned earlier. And James Leary and Andy Hallett, who in addition to being very nice guys are also a laugh riot!

Ok, if you've read this far you must want to know what I look like.
(if you haven't already found my pics link on my main page)
Here you go. That's from 9/99, but you get the idea.

I guess that's it for now, I can't think of anything else to add. If you have an
idea, email me. Otherwise, head back to my morestuff page, or
Kate's Personal Page.
