Infrastructure :

The institute is fully residential with modern hostel facilities for boys and girls students and a sprawling lush green playground with a basket ball court. An indoor Badminton court-cum-gymnasium building is coming up. The institute has all its central infrastructures like Bank, Post Office, Dispensary and Schooling facilities upto high school level in its beautiful scenic campus. It has ample staff quarters as well as Officers’ Hostel to accommodate bachelor faculty members.

The institute has well developed laboratories equipped with modern sophisticated instruments. It has a central library and a Computer Center with Magnum-II, Landmark-II, HP 9000-712 Work Station. Besides the central computational facility mini systems/ P.C.s are available in each department to cater the needs of the students as well as faculty for research and development activities. The institute has also modern CAD Center.

At Integrated Rural Energy Planning Programme (IREP) Technical Backup unit has been established in the Institute by Planning Commission of India.

The serene atmosphere available at Sarang offers the students optimum opportunity to concentrate on studies. Priority is given through routine curricular programmes towards improvement of practical knowledge. In order to provide complete exposure to industrial life students are frequently taken to nearby industrial organisations such as Aluminium Plants, Thermal Power Stations, Fertilizer Plants, Dams & Barrages Project sites, Heavy Water Projects etc on weekends as well as on holidays. Industrial tours are often arranged for students for other industries, which are situated at distant places from the institute for optimum exposure. Every effort is being made to improve various dimensions of student’s personalities by conducting regular cultural programmes, technical exercises, athletic, sports and games and other co-curricular activities.
