LiPo 3S - 2200 mA

Weight: 760 g

Power: 250 Watts
Power loading: 330 Watts / Kg

Coms: it was the model I flew most frequently in this period, and it taught me how to fly helis in open areas. I first flew it in my home garden until I learned to hover this aircraft. After that I took it to the aeromodelism club, and I started to train flying it like a plane.

Yak 54 40

Coms: I built it from an ARF Hyperion kit intended for electric motors. It makes impressive acrobatics.

At-6 Texan 40

Characteristics

First flight in ABR-2006, 39 electric flights

AXI 2826/12 motor - 13x6,5 prop (9600 RPMs)
LiPo 4S - 4600 mA
Wingspan: 1517 mm
Weight: 2900 g

Power: 700 Watts
Power loading: 240 Watts / Kg

Coms: I built it in 2000 from an ARF Great Planes kit intended for glow 40-46 engines. I installed an OS 46 and flew it for several years. I converted it to electric in 2006. It flies in a very realistic way, and I installed retract gears and lights after its electric conversion, which made it possible to fly at sunset.

LiPo 3S - 2200 mA
Wingspan: 900 mm
Weight: 680 g

Power: 290 Watts
Power loading: 430 Watts / Kg

Coms: I built it in 2004 and powered it with a Speed 400 and 8 cells NiMe “AA” pack. I made a lot of nice flights with and without gear. In 2005 I changed the pack for a LiPo 3S 2000 mA Kokam, and tested several motors like Jamara 480 BB geared 1.8:1, Jamara 480 standard geared 3:1 (photo), and Mabuchi 540 direct drive. Almost all of them worked fine. The last test was the set up showed; the AXI motor and LiPo 3S made this model jump in the air like a missile.

Power loading: 340 Watts / Kg

Coms: I built in 1999 and powered it with an Astro Flight 15 G Cobalt and a 12 Cells Sanyo RC-1700 pack. I had made more than 200 flights with this set up when l changed to brushless motor and LiPo paks.

Cessna C 37

Characteristics

First flight in JUL-1998

Astro Flight 15 G cobalt motor- 12x8 prop (6500 RPMs)
LiPo 4S - 4600 mA
Wingspan: 1390 mm
Weight: 1950 g

Power: 400 Watts
Power loading: 200 Watts / Kg

Coms: I built in 1998 and after several testing flights with an Astro Flight 25 G Cobalt and a 16 cells Sanyo RC-1700 pack, I changed to an Astro Flight 15 G Cobalt and a light 12 cells pack. With this conservative set up I flew the plane several years. In 2006 I started to fly it with LiPo 4S packs, but I never changed the motor, which has been working perfectly since its first flight.

Mirage 550

Magnetic Mayhem motor - 8x4 prop
8 cells NiCd 1700 mA
Wingspan: 1330 mm
Weight: 1600 g

Power: 220 Watts

Coms: I built in 1996 and powered with a 600 motor and 8 cells RC-1700 pack. I never changed this original set up, which works perfectly, including the old NiCd packs.

This is my oldest electric plane and it is still flying today with its original electric stuffs and in perfect condition (photos were taken in 2006).
