News on what's going on!
The Oregon Department of Forestry has the holes for the Outhouses dug. It will still be awhile because they have to run tests. We are excited by the progress. Ten of the CBCH members just spent the weekend of August 21 & 22 up at the camp. We had a lot of fun, but a lot of work also. We cleared brush from two more campsites, and installed two more picnic tables. The tables will seat 8 to 10 adults comfortably. That brings the total up to 4 campsites ready, and 4 picnic tables built. The center posts for a fifth table were also set in the ground. We plan on going up again soon, probably the weekend after Labor Day, to complete some more work. I will have more current photos of the site to post soon. That is all for now. Results of the Upcoming Event!
On October 17th, at 11:00am The Coos County Mounted Sheriff's Posse held their Annual Benefit Ride for the Southwest Therapeutic Equestiran Program. The ride was held at Riley Ranch...North Bend Or. There was a Poker Ride, and a raffle to raise money for this wonderful program. They raised approximately $2100.00 for this group. The program is using horses to help disabled children to learn how to walk. The movement of the horse seems to help the nerves in the area awaken, and there is a window after the riding that the children are able to better walk. Thank you to all those who came and helped such a wonderful cause.
