1273 Europe is ravaged by unchecked war, poverty, and despair. Among the greatest warriors of the time are the Covenant of Seven, seven feudal lords who have made a pact with the demon Asmodeus to live forever.

As part of the bargain, the Seven have spread terror and destruction across the land, plunging Europe into the Dark Ages. But the Seven are no longer content with just immortality. Each now hungers to wield the ultimate power of the Mace of Tanis, controlled by Asmodeus.
