The trimaran project continues........ The images on this page show the progress of her construction.(updated May, 2000) The first pic is the trimaran sailing on Spetember 22, 2000, her first time out. See more on Page 3. She seems to want leeboards when the breezes are light, and tends to -crab in very light air going to windward. The lateral resistance from the amas is inadequate till they are forced deep into the water by a stiff breeze. I knew there was something else I wanted to add. The design calls for hydrofoils eventually, with their struts providing lateral resistance. The leeboards mount to the sides of the main hull and will also have the main foils on their feet, and being of asymetrical cross section, they will drive the boat to windward until the lift foils raise them free of the water.
