Comments From The Music Director

nunavut territorial flag

I am the illustrious, fantabulous, effervescent and somewhat longwinded Jenifre Tarkus Kayoa-Bonaqeraj I (The First), Empress III Of The Grande Ronde Royal Imperial Court of The Great State of Eastern Oregon. Roll out the red carpet/pull the cake from the oven/drop to your knees like Aretha Franklin, for I am your Distinguished Musique Directeur and without the powers vested in me as your reigning Empress, KEOL-FM Semiquadrophonic will topple and be mergeant with the dust of our Creator's Earth and I'll simply have to go underground and fire up my own microbroadcasting facility to get my ya-ya's out.

  • FALL 2001 UPDATE/

JAN 2, 2003 UPDATE: Well, I have not updated this page since the Falklands Crisis, and last summer this page was hacked. There was Dr. Pepper spilled everywhere, and people's faces in the photo albums had mysterious rashes on them. The FBI noted the pimples on one of the faces resembled a constellation only visible in the Southern Hemisphere, so that might narrow the culprits down a bit, as only 21% of the Earth's inhabitats live below the Equator, so I hope they're on to something.

I've been asked many times to submit what I thought my fave CD's were from 2002. There were some disappointments by Nektar, Amon Tobin and Karate, but some killers from Kinski, Lowbelly, Flunk, Blood Group, DyerRyme & DyerMedia, Klipperschmidt, RJD2, Wishbone Ash, Capitol K, Vernaline, Ursula 1000, Gomez, Hiya and even a submission from a prog band out of NYC boasting a keyboard player who could be the next Keith Emerson or Rick Wakeman...a petite little girl with long fingernail/claws. How she can play so articulately with those nails, I dunno...when I make too many typos or risk severing an optic nerve if I have an itch up a nostril I trim mine down.

We Will Return To CMJ Reporting Oct. 6-7
  • Please don't clog our e-mail by asking us to report adds. We are still catching up from the summer backlog, and hope to be updated with current adds by the Holidays. Adds are the music director's favorites for the week, and are not "official" suggested targeted programming adds.

    HEY, DEEJAYS!!

We need a work study student to assume the position of "assistant music director" (filing, occaisional reviewing of new music, inventory, etc.)
