History


Arse were formed at the beginning of 1998. The current line up was confirmed in August 1998 with Dan Guitar/Vocals, Ben Drums, Adam Harmonica/Vocals, Andy Bass/Vocals and Mark Percussion/Vocals.

The band have wowed audiences with there energetic live performances from Brighton to Leicester via Croydon.

Adam has featured in various bands from blues to punk.
Dan and Ben were originally in
Wogan's Wig along with Adam. They split after reaching the heady heights of playing on the same bills as Wat Tyler, Sink and Perfect Daze in the early nineties.

Andy has played in a couple of bands and also had a Drum N Bass record released.

Their influences are numerous and varied ranging from Funk to Punk. If you listen you’ll find them in there.

There music has been described as Harmonica Driven Punk R n’ B. Sod descriptions come and listen to it yourself and see what you think.

Why Arse?


The name was Dan's idea. That's about all there is to it.

Current News


The demo has been well received by many record companies and has resulted in Arse contributing to two compilations, one on 25 Records and another on LockJaw Records. The 25 Records compilation is available by Mail Order. Email the address below for details. It is currently being pressed and will be available for £5.
The Lockjaw records compilation "Helping You Back to Work Vol 3" is to be released on 26th July 1999. This will be availa ble in shops or by mail order again for £5. For mail order contact Arse at the email address below for more details. This features signed and unsigned bands including Lockdown, dBh, Monkey Boy, Zen Guerrilla, Freebase, Tyrant, Subvert, 7 of 9, Turnface, Stands To Reason, Puffin, Caution, Arse, and Jor.

They gig in and around London as well as other areas of the country. A tour of Berlin beckons in September.

They were featured in the May issue of Front magazine.

Future


Good things that are happening include the alternative scene that is being built up in Croydon. Just look at the other bands on the site for that. Thanks goes out to Nick from diction for all his hard work, interest and enthusiasm. The Croydon Fest is something that is definitely going to be worth attending.
