August 26, 2001:

A New Family Member: Well, the biggest news of all, and the most prevalent thing happening in my life now is that I am 4 months pregnant! I am expecting February 4, 2002 (although predicted due dates are NEVER right). Chris and I are both very excited and very happy. Thankfully, I have two great sisters-in-law (and lots of friends) who have been through this before who are giving me all sorts of hand-me-downs, and helpful advice. Yay!

June 28, 2001:

Craft Show: On Saturday, October 27th, there will be a craft show at St. Raphael's Church in Burlington (New Street, just east of Walker's Line). I will be there selling hand-knit articles

April 25, 2001:

MS Supercities Walk: We had a beautiful day for the walk. It took us only an hour to do the 5 kilometres. Maybe next year we'll do the 10k! Our team raised almost $2,000 for the MS Society ($1,075 of which was just my sponsors). Thank you to all of you who supported us!

Amy Wallace: My co-worker Sara Rams-Wallace had a baby girl on Monday night. She was 5 pounds, 8 ounces, and she and Mom are doing just fine. Congratulations to her and Scott (her husband...and my boss!) As soon as I have access to any pictures of Amy, I will post them on my photo album page.

Haller House: Most of the Haller siblings got together this past weekend to go through the empty Haller House with a video camera and record stories and memories of the 40 years our family was in that house. I'm planning to go back this weekend and video tape a bit of the neighbourhood so Robert can add that to our tape. The new owners take possession May 1st.

March 14, 2001:

Site updates: I finally got to update the website a bit. Chris did a complete re-format of our hard drives and had to re-install everything. Hence the delay. But here is some news, and I've added a photo album section as well as updating the book reviews. I will also be adding a section "About Me" since that seems to be the trend for personal websites.

Birth Announcement: Jennifer Lynn-Ann Zubkavich was born on February 27th, 2001 to proud parents Heather and Joe (my buddies from Monday Night Wing Night). Jennifer was 7 pounds, 4 ounces at the time of her birth. Check out her very own web site at: http://www.geocities.com/misslarp/jennifer/

MS Supercities Walk: On April 22, 2001, I will be participating in the MS Supercities Walk to raise money for the MS Society. Any and all support would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to sponsor my on my walk, you can do so online at https://www.mssociety.ca/walkregistration/html/en_sponsor.asp?track=838 or you can give me cash, or a cheque, or your credit card #. I am the captain of a team for this walk, and our team name is "The Hoofin' Bookworms!" (We are all in book club together). Team members are myself, Lizabeth Pirstl, Eileen Haller, Laura Botari and Jo-Anne Craig. Thank you in advance for your support!

PartyLite: My starter show went very well, despite the fact that the terrible weather kept more than half my invited guests from coming. I still made enough to cover the cost of my starter kit, and got a few hundred dollars in free stuff besides! I have had one show outside of the house since then, and have a few others booked. I think this is going to go very well!

February 11, 2001:

Chris's Bar: I got some more info about my brother Chris's bar. It's called Mackie's Taigh Osda (Gaelic for beer house). It is on the Danforth, just east of Woodbine, on the north side. I was there last night and it's a pretty cool place. Live entertainment, imported beer, pool table, nice atmosphere. Pictures to come later.

February 4, 2001:

PartyLite Candle Party: I am now selling PartyLite candles and am having my first show on February 10th at 12:30pm. I'm really excited about starting this new venture.

Carrie's Birthday: My friend Carrie was celebrating her birthday last night, and unfortunately I went brain-dead for the day and forgot to go. It was bad enough that we waited til February to celebrate her December 30th birthday, but then I go and FORGET. I can't believe I did that. I'm really sorry, Carrie, and I hope it was fun. I'll see you soon, I hope. And HAPPY BELATED (even more) BIRTHDAY!

January 16, 2001:

Christopher's Bar: I have received a number of emails (okay, the number is 1) pointing out that I had neglected to mention a very important piece of family news. That is, that my brother Christopher now owns a bar in Toronto. I don't think it's open yet (or at least I haven't been invited to a grand opening party yet) but I'm sure it will be very cool when it's open. He's been working on it for months. When I have more details, I will post them here, perhaps with some photos.

January 14, 2001:

Medical Leave Over: Well, I'm finally back at work again! I started back on January 2nd part time, and by the next week, I was working full time. It was difficult to get back into the routine, but I'm glad to be out of the house again! And I'm also finally able to update this page!

New Home: Chris and I finally moved to a new apartment. We are really enjoying it and hope to have many of our friends over soon. For obvious reasons, I will not post our new co-ordinates here online, but I did send out a mass email to everyone I could. If you didn't get it, let me know and I'll send it to you.

Murder Mystery 2000: Chris was supposed to write up a summary of the murder mystery evening for me to go along with the photos, but he still hasn't done it. So I guess I'll just have to provide the pictures, and maybe someday I'll have a description to go along with them.

Wedding photos: I finally have a few more pictures from Robert and Colleen's wedding. You can check them out here. I'm still not happy with the quality of the pictures, and hope to get some more soon.

Paige Mehmet: I also have some pictures of Paige (Daniele and Erin's daughter).

November 20, 2000:

Medical Leave: I am currently taking a medical leave because my eyes are temporarily not working right (I'm seeing double).  That means working on the computer is a little difficult.  So I won't be updating this page much until this has passed.  Please feel free to send me emails though, since I'll be checking once a day (or at least having Chris check for me) and I'd love to get messages to interrupt the long days of no work, no tv, no reading, no knitting......

November 3, 2000:

Apartment Search: No, we haven't moved yet.   I am having a very hard time finding an apartment but I'm going to have to settle on something soon.  I will let everyone know when I do.

October, 2000:

Apartment Search: Chris and I are searching for a new home and are hoping to move by the end of October.   So we will have a new address, phone number, etc.  We will also likely be changing our email addresses (yes, again!!!!).  I will let you all know our new co-ordinates as soon as they are known.

Wedding News: My big brother Robert got married on October 7th to a wonderful girl named Colleen (who I am glad to welcome to this whacky family).  It was a beautiful wedding and a really fun party.  My photos didn't turn out too well but I posted a few here.  I'm hoping to get better ones from someone else soon.

Birth Announcement: My friend and ex-roommate Daniele and her husband Erin had a baby girl on October 7th at about 4am.  Paige Alexandra weighed 7lb 6oz at the time of her birth.  Both she and Daniele are doing fine (although Erin looks a bit worn out!)  Dan, I still want a picture from you to post here.  CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!!!!

Murder Mystery: My wonderfully imaginative husband planned a special party for my 30th birthday this October -   a murder mystery party!  I will be posting a summary of the night's events as soon as I can but in the meantime, here are some photos.

October 1, 2000:

Race: My sister Margaret ran today in the Portland Marathon.  I followed her progress online at portlandmarathon.org and cheered as she finished in place #2390 in the women's division out of almost 5000 women runners, completing the 26 mile, 385 yard course in 5 hours, 50 minutes and 14 seconds.  WAY TO GO MARGARET!!!!!!
