May 5, 2004:
Frankie's Christening: Robert and Colleen have planned the christening for a couple of weeks from now. Looking forward to seeing my nephew again.
New Baby: Duncan Gareth Ewing was born on Monday March 15 to parents Barry and Megan Ewing. Duncan weighed 8lbs 15oz 21.5 cm. Although Megan totally blew all the betting pools for the arrival date by deciding she'd had enough of pregnancy and opting for induction.
Another New Baby: Trevor John Jeffery Kennedy was born on Monday April 26 to Alison and Rob Kennedy. Trevor weighed 6lbs and 3oz. Alison's baby shower was the previous day, and she bravely continued opening presents and being sociable even though she was showing all the signs of starting labour. Her water broke shortly after getting home from the shower. Way to hang in there Alison!
MS Walk 2004: My team (Baby Steps) participated in this year's walk, despite the torrential downpour and HAIL. All together, we raised over $2,000 for the MS Society. Thanks to my team-mates: Catherine, Eileen, Erin, Laura, Sarah, Heather, Jennifer, Angela, Janet, Martene, Rob and Zeus!
February 29, 2004:
A New Haller: Francis John Thomas Haller (Frankie) was born on January 28th, 2004. He weighed 7lbs, 2oz. Congratulations Colleen and Robert, and welcome Frankie! Some photos will be put in the Photo Album section of this website.
Catherine's Birthday: Catherine turned 2 on February 8th. We had a nice little party at McDonalds with some of her friends. Thanks for coming Erin, Jennifer, Angela, Sarah and Ethan (and their parents). Again, photos can be found in the Photo Album page.
MS Walk 2004: Catherine and I are participating again this year in the Supercities Walk for MS. My fundraising goal is $1,500 and I need all the help I can get! To sponsor me, click the following link: https://opalnet.mssociety.ca/opal.net/ors/index.aspx?PID=0585085&PCID=0925714
November 17, 2003:
Another Pregnancy: Congrats to Rob and Alison Kennedy on their baby-on-the-way due in mid May 2004
Knitting Classes: I just finished teaching my first six-week knitting class at Lewiscraft at the Mapleview Mall. I think it went very well and I'm looking forward to resuming it in January.
Happy Birthday!: My brother Christopher turned 40 years old this month and a bunch of us went out to celebrate with him at the Pure Spirits Oyster Bar in Toronto.
Catherine's progress: On September 6th, Catherine took her first steps unaided. Since then she's gotten very good at it and is now walking and running everywhere. Her vocabulary has grown as well. I can't believe how fast the time flies!
August 15, 2003:
Another Haller baby: My sister-in-law Colleen is expecting in January. Congrats Rob & Colleen! They also bought a new house and moved in there this past June. It's a beautiful big old place, and they are doing a lot of work to restore it a bit.
Yet another baby: Congratulations to Barry & Megan who are expecting their first child in March of 2004. They also bought a new house in Burlington and will be moving here shortly. Welcome to town!
More movings: Liz and Mark also bought a new house and will be moving soon also. Can't wait to see it!
Catherine's progress: My beautiful daughter is now 18 months old. She's very close to being able to walk (she just lacks the courage to let go of my hand). Her vocabulary now includes: Mama, Papa, hi, bye-bye, up, out, back-pack and map (from Dora the Explorer), cereal, hair and PIZZA!
February 9, 2003:
Lots of new babies!: Hali Grace Crawford was born on August 29, 2002 to Shelley (Colleen's sister) and her husband Neil. Sarah Botari was born on September 20, 2002 to proud parents Jeff and Laura . Lucca Bonetti was born on November 15, 2002 to Stephane and Leslie. Angela Zubkavich was born November 22, 2002 to Joe and Heather, making a new little sister for Jennifer.
New Pregnancy: Mary Guay-Daley is expecting in early June of 2003!
Robert & Colleen: After their trip out west, Rob & Colleen landed back in Ottawa, staying with Colleen's parents. Colleen landed a great job as the Manager of the Dining Room at Riverpark Place, a retirement home in the west end of Ottawa. Robert has recently been hired as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Prescott, ON.
My brother the philospher: This fall, my brother Stephen published his book "Apocalypse Soon" which I've been told considers models for assessing the risk of potential global catastrophes (such as global warming) and weighs preventative action against inaction. Stephen toured with the book to Iceland and England and is back to teaching (with a promotion to tenure track) at Wilfred Laurier University, Brantford Campus.
Back to work: My maternity leave is over and I have returned to work at Cantech, part-time. I'm no longer the Office Administrator, but am now the Marketing Assistant. So far so good. It's kind of fun.
Catherine's Birthday: Catherine turned 1 year old on February 8th, 2003. She had 4 of her little friends over (Erin McGillicuddy, Sarah Botari, Jennifer and Angela Zubkavich) and their parents. It was a very fun party with balloons, cake, and lots of play-time. Thanks to everyone who came or sent a card!
August 28, 2002:
Another new baby: Sarah Rose Habgood was born on August 15th to proud parents Martin and Heather. Sarah weighed 10 pounds (poor Heather! at least it was a C-section)) and was 20.5 inches long. I'm told all three are doing quite well. I can't wait to see her! Catherine is going to have no lack of playmates!
August 20, 2002:
Wedding: On August 17th, Alison Large and Robert Kennedy were married here in Burlington. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony and the reception was a blast. Congratulations guys!
Yet another pregnancy!: This announcement is a bit late, but Heather and Joe Zubkavich are expecting their second child in December. Way to go you two!
Graduation: Congratulations to my brother Robert who has completed his Masters degree in Public Administration. He handed in his final thesis last week and he and Colleen are leaving London shortly to stay in Ottawa with Colleen's parents until Robert can land a great new job. They are also awaiting the birth of Colleen's sister's baby. Babies everywhere!!!!
New Residence: Chris, Catherine and I moved to a new home in June. So we're finally out of that hell-hole we were living in. No more floods. No more sleezy slimy landlord. No more bugs. Our new place is wonderfully bright, and large, and Catherine even gets her own room. For obvious reasons, I will not post the new address on the web, but if you weren't notified, please let me know. Our phone number hasn't changed.
May 18, 2002:
Erin Eileen McGillicuddy: was born on April 14, 2002 at 3:27pm at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. She weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces at birth and was 21" long. Congratulations Eileen and Colin!!!
MS Walk: On April 21st, I participated in the MS Supercities Walk along with my daughter Catherine, my friend Laura, my cousin Joanne, and Joanne's daughter Laura. It was a very cold day, but we had fun anyway. Thank you to everyone who supported us!
Baptism: On May 11th, my daughter Catherine was baptised along with my niece Erin (who is also now my god-daughter). It was a very special day for everyone involved. Thank you to everyone who came - especially Catherine's new god-parents, Mark and Lizabeth.
February 18, 2002:
Catherine Joan Beauchemin: was born on February 8, 2002 at 1:36pm at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital after about 12 hours of labour, weighing in at 7 lb 5 oz and 21" long. We made it through the ordeal thanks to a wonderful thing called an epidural. Catherine had to stay in the neo-natal care nursery for a few days because she had inhaled some meconium (her own poop - ewww) while still in the womb. But she was treated with anti-biotics and was able to join me in my room by Monday night (the 11th). We were released from hospital on the 12th. Since then we have been doing great (aside from a bit of sleep deprivation). I am posting some pictures on the Photo Album section of this website, but they're all out of focus. I should have better ones very soon.
Another pregnancy: My friend Laura Botari just announced yesterday that she is now pregnant and is due in September. Woo Hoo! Congratulations to Laura and Jeff.
November 25, 2001:
New Changes to Website: since our internet accounts were switched from @home to @cogeco (because @home went bankrupt), we lost most of our webspace. So I am now trying out angelfire.com for hosting. There will likely be many ads on the site now, but I don't have much choice.
New Car: My old Pontiac Lemans finally died and has gone to the great wrecking yard in the sky. So I am now leasing a brand new Hyundai Accent, and I really really like it!
October 24, 2001:
Another New Family Member: Baby Beauchemin is doing quite well, and my belly is quite big. I'm almost at 6 months now. But the latest news is that Baby Beauchemin will have a little cousin 2 months younger! My sister Eileen is also pregnant! Woohoo!
