SUPERCITIES WALK FOR MS - 2007
Well, they predicted rain and snow, but thankfully, that didn't happen! It was grey and damp but not actually raining. Our team, Baby Steps, got started after a quick breakfast at the start line and we managed the 2.5k in a little less than an hour. The kids did great.... well, they needed a little prodding for that last half-kilometre but the promise of pizza and hot dogs kept them going!
Thank you to all the team members for making this a record year for Baby Steps - we raised over $3,000! Way to go everyone! That's 3,000 more Baby Steps in the right direction!
Our team was awarded a prize this year for best team name - yippee! Now I have a second plaque to hang on my wall (the first one was a few years ago for the team with the highest average pledge amount per member).
And a super huge THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored us! Your contribution will go towards helping people with MS right here in our community, as well as paying for research to find a cure.
If you haven't made your pledge yet, there's still time! Head on over to my fundraising site at the MS Society!
Team members included Trish, Catherine, Eileen, Erin, Heather, Jennifer, Angela, Mike, Karen, Caitlin, Ben, Beatrix, Rob, and Trevor. Plus honorary mention to our youngest team member, Conor who couldn't make it due to the threat of weather unsuitable for such a little guy :-) And honorary mention for Karen G. who helped raise funds but could not attend due to the omni-presence of latex and my unwillingness to make another hospital visit this year!
Here is
the team getting ready to start and waiting for all team members to arrive...
