Eragon - Christopher Paolini

While this is a bit of a fluff piece, with obvious influences from other fantasy genre books, I did enjoy it.  I was even more impressed to learn the author was only 17 when he wrote it.  I also recently finished the sequen, Eldest, which was much better, and I'm really looking forward to the next book, which comes out this summer.
