A Spuke Retrospective

Spuke was a Onion - inspired satirical newspaper born through some thought-provoking conversations about how to pass some free time while in college. Original Spuke-rs, Brian Gall, Walerian Czarnecki and Adam Wilson, brought the project to life originally on a now-defunct, not to be named, free web space service provider.

Limited to only so much web space, and being able to fit so much into a small area, the trio removed Spuke from the masses after three months of relatively good page hit activity.

Months later, Spuke was reborn on another not-to-be-named (and no longer free) web space provider. This time, a larger building area provided returning originators, Czarnecki and Wilson, with the ability to not only create Spuke the way it was meant to be, but also allowed them to churn out such top-notch articles as 'Man follows advice of fortune cookie, divorces wife', 'french fry molested by caterpillar' and the award-winning full-page 'Who Would Win in a Steel Cage? Britney or Christina?'.

After many successful months, Spuke was once again deleted. This time by the last not-to-be-named web space provider who wanted us to pay them a ridiculous amount of money to house our site on it's site. No way, we Spuke'rs said. Hence the second death of Spuke.

Years passed. People got older. Some matured. Some moved. Some held a flame for their old friend, Spuke.

Hence the Third Coming of Spuke...
