Irish Dancing Championships

This competition is open to NZ dancers only, who are registered in NZ and are dancing with NZTIDA affiliated teachers.

Championship Sponsorship
On behalf of TIDA we would like to offer groups, companies or individuals the opportunity to sponsor one or more of the Championship sections, or to advertise in the official souvenir programme of the event.

Sponsorship is available for solo and ceili events. Your sponsorship would provide medals, sashes, trophies and certificates for the competitors. We would acknowledge such sponsorship in the programme and during the course of the selected championship. Championship Advertising
You may like to advertise in the official souvenir programme, an A5 booklet. Individuals, companies and corporations are welcome to make enquiries. Rates for advertising are:

• Full page $200 - Black & White
• Half page $100 - Black & White
• Colour extra and not all sizes available (POA)

If you are interested in either the Sponsorship or Advertising, please contact Leanne Doyle or Sean Hallissey at the first available opportunity and you will be advised of the closing dates for copy. Major sponsors will be allocated premium advertising space.

The Venue

Local Information
The venue is centrally located within easy walking distance of the Auckland Irish Society and shops & restaurants on busy Karangahape Road. The hall is approximately 4 kms from either downtown Auckland, the Sky tower, Viaduct area or Ponsonby both with ample shopping facilities and restaurants.

Pre purchased tickets will be available through the Red Ticket Company (NZ Post Shop):

  A Booking Fee of $6.00 per transaction is payable for pre-purchased tickets. Payment will be accepted by cash, Visa or MasterCard credit cards. Cheques not accepted.

Adjudicators for the 2003 NZ National Championships will be:

Entry:
Entry Fees are: $50.00 per dancer
Closing date for entries is - Friday, 11th July 2003.

Rules & Conditions for Entry
These Championships are run under the rules and regulations of An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha and the NZ Irish Dancing Championships and the New Zealand TIDA organisation. By entry into these Championships you are agreeing to note the following rules and to comply with the regulations herein mentioned.

1. The 2003 event is open to residents of NZ only.
2. Entry to these Championships is through NZ registered teachers only. No entry will be accepted from individuals.
3. Video and camera equipment is banned from use during the course of the Championships except during Prizegiving ceremonies. Offenders will be removed from the Championships.
4. Full costume must be worn by all prize winners during the presentation of awards.
5. Instructions of stewards and official personnel must be complied with at all times.

Merchandise:
Will be available to take home as a souvenir of the 2003 Championships, a selection of items will be available including:

• T-shirts with logo
• Drink bottles with logo
• Pens with logo

Celebration Ceili (Party)
To be held from 8pm - 12 midnight on Sunday night, 28th September 2003 at the Auckland Irish Society, Great North Road, Ponsonby. Tickets $10.00. All welcome.

There will also be a Friday Night Disco (26th September 2003) for under 13’s, also at the Auckland Irish Society, Great North Road, Ponsonby from 7pm - 10.30pm. $5.00 entry.

Raffles
A variety of raffles will be offered at the Nationals. A selection of wonderful prizes will be on offer. Ticket from $2.00 each. Further information will be supplied closer to the time of the event. Contact: Christine Gatman 09 443 5997.

Teachers Reception
To be held at the Surrey Hotel - the official hotel of the Championships, on the evening of Wednesday 24th September. The dinner is at the hotel Restaurant at 6.30pm. After dinner drinks will be held.
