And here is what Glenn H. Lewis, President of Slavic Treasures said, after handing us his new catalog:
"How does it feel to be holding a piece of history? That's right, you are holding a piece of history.
The catalog in your hands features photos of the first-ever collection of COLLECTIBLE QUALITY mouthblown glass to be made in China! We are proud of this major accomplishment considering that most glass ornaments from China are geared toward mass-market industry!
When I first visited Asia to work on the College Treasures division of Slavic Treasures, I had no intentions of starting a glass ornament factory in China, yet that's just what happened. I was totally amazed by the tremendous level of artisan talent and precision that I witnessed there. Watching the Chinese artists work so precisely on everything from art to architecture, I was confident that production of high quality glass ornaments could be achieved. And here now you will see the results of that decision and the resulting effort from our newly created Chinese production facility.
Creating collectible quality glass ornaments is quite a challenge under best conditions, but in China the obstacles could easily have been overwhelming. I knew the only way to achieve my goal for quality was to start at the beginning. In this case, it meant creating a new factory... unlike any other existing glass factories in China. A "new focus" facility established and maintained in terms of quality not mass-quantity. No production corners are cut; no steps are eliminated or subtituted. Every artist participates in an ongoing training program that is strictly focused on quality and "high-end" production techniques. dditionally, I have brought many of the "tricks" and European manufacturing procedures (that we use in Poland) to our new production faciity in China. In doing so, the artisans and craftspeople have developed a new sense of personal pride and accomplishment. As I said already, as soon as you turn the page, you're in for a big treat.
While the Asian Treasure division may have exquisite products, it will never merge with the original Slavic Treasures line. Slavic Treasures will stay exclusively with Polish-made products. There will be no overlappng of designs, either. It's very simple: Slavic is Slavic (Poland) and Asian is Asian (China)...and that's how it will always remain.
Asian Treasures is starting with 101 designs - 55 moded, and 46 free-blown. Prepare to be amazed at the photographs of these groundbreaking designs, but to fully appreciate these works of art, you have to see the real items. Make it happen. It's just a phone call away or a website order. Open your eyes and heart to Asian Treasures."
