HAWAII !!!
Well guys Hawaii was pretty awesome for the most part. We got over hanging out in touristy Waikiki, towards the end, so we moved out to a campsite on the Northern side. It was awesome out there, really laid back, close to all the good surf beaches and pretty scenery. Here's a pic of one of the beaches on the North shore, it was quite thrilling to watch, heaps of good surfers out and quite a few Aussies around - we saw Layne Beachley.

In between our time on Oahu we tripped over to Kauai, we did a four day hike/camping trip along the Na Pali coast. We met up with our buddies Jeff, Jade and Scott and our new friend Ceddie, all from Maui who hiked with us. We camped out at this secluded little spot called Kalalau Beach, which featured a waterfall right on the beach, caves, fruit trees and a magnificent back drop of pinnicles and cliffs!! We hiked along a series of these reaching near death exhaustion several times along the way in and only once on the way out. (It may have been the wine we consumed on the first night that hindered us!!)
You can only get to the beach by hiking or helicopter or by swimming from a boat, we took the most challenging way naturally. You only get to eat what you bring in, which limited us to tuna and Beans for the last three days. These were consumed from cans opened with knives or machetes thanks to our efficiant packing, although give Jess a day without food and she would have chewed through the cans with her teeth. Instead she resorted to eating tuna with fresh lemons, which were so sour they made your stomach acid seem mild.
On the way out we got the first rain of our stay in Kauai, which was perfect as we were getting low on water purification tablets. So Jess and I stopped regularly to drink from leaves or to lick the plants.
As soon as we finished the hike we just ate burgers and chips to our hearts content, got beers, pie and found fancy resort with a hottub to sneak into!! Very blissful!!
