"America is such a huge priority for us and it's a huge market and people have always said that if you break America, you've truly made it and i think one day we spoke to Louis, we wanted America so badly and Louis said that we were the band to do it. Hopefully we are, and we're going to give it our best shot" "Our first showcase was in LA and America is all about singing live so we did five songs and a couple a capella and everyone was invited- all the media, the teen press, the TV stations to introduce them to Westlife and the great thing about it was Clive Davis turned up. He arrived up in this big limo and introduced us onstage. Gave us a big long speech. I mean he's had people like Santana, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton and now he's talking about Westlife"

"She stayed chatting to us for 15 mins, we thought she'd say hello and move on. It was a great honour for us and she knew an awful lot about our sucess in the rest of the world. She said she really, really wanted to do a duet with us and our faces dropped, especially Mark. We were OMG, ringing all our friends and parents."
Re Grammies
"We felt a little out of our depth. Britney Spears is walking by and then there was Toni Benet, Stevie Wonder, TLC and then us. But they interviewed us. There were people like Cameron Diaz, everywhere you look there were celebrites, LA is like a living movie. We're 3 guys from Sligo and 2 guys from Dublin and to mix with these people is amazing, the stories I can tell my grandchildren."
re: Georgina-his girlfriend
"Hopefully I will marry Georgina one day but definitely not during the duration of the band because I'm so busy. I think that would be unfair to both of us. We do have plans long, long, long term to settle down or something, that's what we'd love to do but we're not any closer to it now than last year or 5 years ago."
