A large press room comes into view. The walls are covered in framed newsarticles. Each article of important historical significance. There's one of the Moon Landing, D-day, toppling of the Berlin Wall, the death of Princess Diana, the appointment of John Paul II as pope as well as, almost, uncountable others. The framed articles cover the two sidewalls of the press room. The back wall holds the door, while the front wall is where the podium is.
The podium area has been set-up to the speakers specifications. In this case the speaker is "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson, so the set-up is very self serving. A banner runs overhead of the podium with the words "Year of the Natural Wonder" brightly printed across it. On the podium it's self, where the CWF Logo would normally be, there is a picture of Shane holding, both, the ICWA World Title and the smashed Stable Title over his head.
In the hall outside the press room the noise of a big group of people can be heard. A second later the door, on the back wall, of the room pops open and in comes the Newspaper, Radio and Television reporters to fill the chairs. They have their notepads, tape recorders and video cameras ready within seconds of entering the room. Several minutes after the last of the reporters has entered the room Deez Nuts walks out to the podium.
Deez: Please! Please! Everyone could I have your attention. I want to thank you all for attending. From what I understand current ICWA Champion Shane Jackson has an important announcement to make, that's why you all are here. So instead of holding you in suspence any longer, I present to you Shane Jackson.
Deez moves off to the left side of the podium as he expects Shane to come out right away. After a couple of seconds the podium is still empty. Deez face begins to turn red and he starts looking around nervously. Suddenly "Hail to the Chief" begins playing through the press room. No doubt a ploy by the "Natural Wonder" to make sure everyone is going to be paying attention to him.
Shane steps out from the right side of the curtain. He has on his Doc Martin boots, a pair of grey Dockers pants and a white T-shirt that reads "I got your World Champion right here". His hair is gelled and a pair of CK sunglasses rests on his forehead. Over his left shoulder is the ICWA World Title, over his right is the patched up Stable Title. As he approaches the podium "Hail to the Chief" quiets so he can be heard.
Shane: Deez, that's the ONE and ONLY time you are ever going to introduce me. I am not the ICWA Champion, I'm the ICWA WORLD Champion. Make yourself usefull and go get the cart I have sitting backstage.
Deez stands staring, angrily, at Shane for a second before he finally turns and goes off the stage.
Shane: We're down to the last handfull of days before The Chill. My understanding is I am going to face Sebastian for MY World Title. I'm sure you all think I called you here so you can listen to me tell you what I think of the guy I've nicknamed "Ogre", but no. My announcement is much more important than anything that has to do with Sebastian. What I have to say may just change, not only the CWF, but possibly the face of wrestling forever.
Deez comes back onto stage. He's pushing a chest high cart with a brown, Pepperidge Farms Snacking Crackers, box on it. He wheels it up next to Shane.
Shane: People thought it was a big deal when John Miller became owner of the CWF. They thought it was incredible when Adam Azure created his own title. Some saw it as astounding when The Smack Daddy started the Fourth Era by bringing back Rueffio. Above all that stands my proclomation that 2002 is the "Year of the Natural Wonder". This, undoubtedly, is just as monumental.
Shane pauses for a second to hold the suspense.
Shane: I, the "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson, am announcing the creation of the ONLY stable in the CWF. I own the Stable Title, and now I own a Stable to defend it. Who's in this stable? I can say, with almost total confidence, that everyone has met or seen the 3 people I am about to present to you. Are they currently on the CWF Roster? NO. The current CWF Roster is too far below the level of these stars.
The ICWA World Title begins slipping from Shane's shoulder. He takes it and lays in on the cart, along with the Stable Title.
Shane: The first person is someone that EVERYONE knew about when they were little. He would provide hours of entertainment and excitement and he brought joy to many lives.
Shane pulls open the top of the Pepperidge Farm box and reaches in.
Shane: I present to you Sgt. Plasto
He pulls out a small plastic army man and sets him infront of the box. Immediately the press corps. starts talking amongst themselves. They are totally unsure of how to take Shane's, very odd, decleration. Without waiting Shane continues what he has to say.
Shane: Second is someone that has made some people's lives so much easier. He's always there with a smiling face and a good attitude.
Again Shane reaches into the box.
Shane: The second member is none other than. UNCLE BEN!
Shane pulls out a box of Uncle Ben's Minute Rice and sets it next to Sgt. Plasto. Again there is a wave of chatter that runs through the reporters. Shane still continues.
Shane: The final member is a fighter. He was an icon to a whole generation a few years ago and now he's becoming an icon again. He came back from a life threatening illness and is back in the public spotlight.
For the last time Shane reaches into the brown box.
Shane: He's held more gold than anyone and has one of the most popular catch phrases the world has ever seen. I now give you the last member of MY stable..... MR. T!!!!
Shane pulls a framed picture of Mr. T and sets by Uncle Ben. For the third time the press becomes restless with Shane's words. A look of puzzlement crosses Deez's face as he stares at the 3 members of Shane's stable.
Shane: Together we are destined to be the greatest stable in the history of professional wrestling. So if anyone has any questions please, feel free to ask.
Before Shane can finish his sentence ever hand in the press corps. goes up. Shane flashes his classic smile at them, then lowers the sunglasses over his eyes. He picks up his titles off the cart and slings them over his shoulders and walks off stage. Deez quickly gets the signal and pushes the cart after him. Everyone in the press gallery is left looking like idiots with their hands in the air and a million different question in their minds.
