Scene opens to a bright, sunny day, around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. The ICWA tour bus is flying down Cleveland Expressway toward the Brown's stadium. There is unusually light traffic on the expressway considering the time and day. On a friday afternoon most people like to try and get a way from work a little early, and since it's summer often times they drive straight home and pack up the family and head out to camp (if they have one). Today though the traffic is sparse.
Inside the bus many of the ICWA stars are lounging in their seats. Some are trying to catch a little rest before they reach the arena where they are scheduled to workout and train until 6. Every window on the bus is wide open as everyone is trying to get some cool air flowing through the hot and stuffy bus.
The wrestlers are scattered throught the bus, with no order or particular arrangement to their seating. At the front of the bus sits Brandon Sinclair. He's wearing a tattered shirt with the words "Metallica" barley visible across his dirt covered chest. His worn jeans are held together by saftey pins and carefully placed duct tape. On his feet are two different types of shoes. On his left foot is an Addidas, low top running shoe that is covered in mud. On his right foot he's wearing a Nike, high top, basketball shoe. The whole front toe section of the Nike shoe is missing, which seemed to be the reason the owner tossed it out. Brandon is laying across two seats, attempting to get some much needed rest. Seeing as his unappealing smell bothers the rest of the talent, no one has opted to sit in a 4 seat radius of him, which leaves Brandon the ability to lay across a whole row of seats without any complaints.
Chris, Rachel and T-Bone sit behind Brandon, carefully maintaining the 4 seat radius. Chris sits next to the window, with Rachel next to him. T-Bone sits across the isle from them, nobody occupies the seat next to him. Through most of the trip Chris has been staring out the window, contemplating things, quietly, in his head. Rachels has been asleep on his arm for the last 20 minutes. T-Bone, since the bus pulled out, has been flicking little bits of paper at, the down on his luck, Brandon Sinclair, who for the most part has been trying to ignore him.
Behind the team of Krusht sits two of the newest member of ICWA, Calvin Symbolic and Ragin' Bull. The two of them have been playing cards, WAR to be specific. Across the isle from them is Minoru Fujita and MaXx Graves. Throught the trip, so far, MaXx has been, slowly, helping Minoru try to read, the Dr. Seuss classic, "Horton Hears a Who", with very little success.
Sitting behind MaXx and Minoru is Maximus. Nobody sits next to him. Across the isle from Maximus is Grimm. Neither of them have spoken a word since they boarded the bus. Occassionally they glance at each other, but quickly look away as if it never happened. Then tension between the two of them has only made things on the bus that much more uncomfortable.
Behind Grimm sits Oblivion and Berserker and across from them is Sledgehammer and Neuromancer. Although theses 4 go to the extent of destroying each other in the ring they seem to be tolerant toward each other outside of it. Since the bus has been moving the 4 of them have been comparing battle scars. Each is trying to one up the other with bigger scars and more, exageratedly, horrific stories about how they recieved it and from who. Despite their competitive storytelling, no fights or heated words have been exchanged between the 4 Hardcore warriors.
Filling the seats after Oblivion and Berserker are the Psycho Phuks. They, for some reason, are holding out hope that, somehow, M-Blood is going to escape from the institution he's in and magically appear on the bus. Although, it seems, everyone else on the bus knows this isn't going to happen it still hasn't dawned on the Phuks, who have reserved the two seats across from them for M-Blood. In anticipation of him showing up, at some point in the trip, the two Phuks have placed a cardboard sign in the seats that explicitly says "Reserved for M-Blood".
In the seats after the "Reserved for M-Blood" section sit the Brothers in Arms and John Connors, in a mixed order. Insanity and John sit on one side of the isle and Xtreme sits across from them. The 3 have been talking about various topics throught the trip and don't appear to have any tension between them. They have covered topics ranging from past girlfriends to their favorite kinds of cars to which flavour of ice cream looks better dropped on a white shirt.
Sitting behind the Bothers, John, mix is Jeckel, sitting next to him, in a rare ICWA appearance is Peach. Jeckel chose to ride the ICWA bus only out of convienence for him and Peach, still he's undeclared about which side he chooses. Peach sits next to the window, Jeckel sits next to the isle. The whole ride the two have been holding hands, but have said very little between them. Most of the time Jeckel has been staring at the back of John's seat as if he's trying to see into the future and predict what it has instore for him. Across the isle from Peach and Jeckel is the VP and Prez Ben. They have been talking, almost non-stop about the buisness of the ICWA and "Hostiel Takeover" matters. Most of the wrestlers have ignored them seeing as how what happens in the front office is of little concern to anyone other than the Prez and VP.
Finally sitting at the very back of the bus is "Suffering" Joe O'Brien and "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson. The final row of the bus has 3 seats on one side, with the washroom, staggered, behind them. Across from their 3 seat row is the short hall which leads to the door of the washroom, which isn't visible to them. They smell from the washroom is filtered out of the bus so that people riding in the back aren't bothered by it. At present they only have to contend with the smell Brandon Sinclair is emitting, which is even distinguishable, in the final, back row of the bus. "Suffering" sits on the end of the row, with a seat seperating him and Jackson, who sits near the window. Every now and then the two discuss issues at hand such as Grimm, Jeckel, or who the 4th man of team ICWA is. The majority of the trip though the two have remained reserved.
The bus, now, is only short ways from the Brown's arena. The atmosphere of the wrestlers is steadily picking up. Even the tension between Grimm and Maximus seems to have lessened. As the bus pulls into the arena parkinglot they are met with a HUGE crowd of fans. Many are sporting T-shirts of the ICWA stars, while others hold signs supporting the wrestlers. There is even a "Come live in my dumpster" sign, obviously directed toward Sincalair. As the bus stops, a few hundred feet, from the arena entrance the fans begin to crowd around it. Security personell immediately rush from inside the arena to forcefully create a walkway through the crowd for the ICWA.
Inside the bus the athletes are standing and pulling their carry-on luggage from the reacks above them or from under their seats. the VP quickly makes his way to the front of the bus to lead the wrestlers through the crowd and to their training area inside the arena. He waits untill everyone is ready before he tells the driver to open the doors of the bus so they can leave. As the door opens the fans begins screaming. In the distance, coming from the arena, is the opening music to the ICWA's Sunday Massacre show. The VP quickly walks down the stair and out into the sunlight. He is followed closely by Brandon, and Krusht. They move through the forcefully cleared walksway toward the arena. Each time another wrestler appears from the bus the fans cheer.
As the bus empties the few at the back gather up their things and file into line with the rest. Jeckel stands, glances back at Shane, Prez Ben and Joe, then him and Peach step out from their seats and fiel into line behind John and the Brothers in Arms. The Prez stands from his seat and motions for Joe and Shane to go infront of him. Joe acknowledges and steps infront of Ben. The Prez looks at Shane, who has made no attempt to move from his seat. Ben nods at Shane, an unspoken understanding passes between them, and the Prez steps out into line behind Joe. As Ben reaches the halfway point of the bus Shane pulls away from his stare out the window. He stands and pulls a dufflebag from the overhead compartment. As he does Ben stops and glances back at him, then continues shuffling towards the front. Shane steps out into the isle and begins walking toward the doors. Being sure to stay several steps behind Ben.
Outside the bus the fans continue to cheer. As the Jeckel emerges from the bus the fans become louder than ever. For Joe they seemingly get even louder, the louder cheers carry through with Ben. The fans expect to see their hometown boy Shane Jackson directly behind Ben. But emptyness that follows behind Ben suddenly quiets the cheers. The anticipation for Shane builds. A figure appears atthe top of the steps. The late afternoon sun shadows the door not allowing much light in. The figure goes down one step and the limited light only reveals to his shins, leaving the rest in shadow. THe figure goes down a second step and the light pushes up past his waist. The fans know who it is, but still they hold in the noise. The figure moves down to the last step and the loght is able to get up to the shoulders. As the figure steps off the bus and onto toe pavement the light exposes his face. The fans explode into, a near defening, cheer, as the music from the arena changes from Sunday Massacre to Jackson's entrance theme "Higher" by Creed.
Shane walks down the path between the fans with a big smile on his face. He knows he's home, and that these are HIS people. He's their prodigal son, attainging heights that others dream of. A "Jackson" chant flows through the crowd as Shane nears the arena. He reaches the gates of the arena, still several steps behind Ben. Instead of directly entering, like all the others did Shane pauses. He turns to the crowd, and raises his arms for quiet. The fans immediately go silent, as if he's a pupeteer and they his puppets obeying their masters command. He motions for a microphone. As one is handed to him Shane moves over to one of the spears, blasting his music. He jumps up on it and motions for them to cut the music. It is quickly done, leaving him with complete controll of what the fans are going to hear.
Shane: Your "Natural Wonder" has come HOME.....
The fans erupt into cheers, but Shane quickly quiets them again.
Shane: Home to the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.
The fans cheer.
Shane: Home to the Cleveland Indians.
The fans cheer even louder.
Shane: Home to the Cleveland BROWNS.
The fans get even louder.
Shane: And home to ME. The Cleveland Express...the "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson.
The fans erupt.
Shane: The CWF thinks they can beat Shane Jackson, and team ICWA, in Cleveland. Is that going to happen?
The fans chant NO.
Shane: NO! Your right, it's not going to happen. At "Hostile Takeover", Shane Jackson is going to show everyone why they....
Shane motions for a piece of prearranged music to be played. Suddenly BTO, in the middle one of their songs chorus's, blasts from the speaker Shane is standing on.
......AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET!!!
BTO continues to fly from the speakers as Shane switches off the mic. and jumps down from his perch. One of the security guards hands him his duffle bag. Before he dissappears into the arena Shane turns back to HIS fans and raises his arms in the air. The fans eat it up as they try to push past the security line to touch their hometown hero. As Shane enters the arena the image fades out.
