| Time Stamped Tuesday, September 30th, 2003 Both men hit the ground hard. Shane quickly mounts Sonic and begins firing fists at him. Sonic takes the first few shots doing nothing to stop them. When he's decided he's had enough he grabs Shane's arms and powers him off. Sonic gets to his feet as a small trickle of blood begins running from his nose. Paying no attention to the blood, he picks up a rusted, old, screwdriver that lays nearby and charges at the rising Shane. Shane, noticing Sonic picking up the screwdriver, grabs a hand full of dirt as he rises from the floor. As Sonic closes in Shane throws the dirt into Sonic's eyes, blinding him. As Sonic tries to recover from the tactic Shane capitalizes on the opportunity. He reaches under the ring and pulls out a half empty paint can. Shane slams the paint can into the side of Sonic's head. Sonic drops to the floor like a rock. Shane tosses the paint can aside. Sonic: You don't understand innovation. Drew will tear you apart if you don't use every object to it's full potential. Shane watches as Sonic pushes himself to his feet. A large gash has appeared on the side of his head where Shane hit him with the paint can. This guy is unbelievable. Taking a shot like that from a half full paint can and he gets to his feet as if nothing happened. That cut on his head had to be at least 3/4 of an inch deep, what kind of mindset must he have to disengage the pain I've just caused him. Sonic: You want to see innovation? Sonic walks toward the office he came out of earlier. Shane follows a few feet behind. As Sonic enters the office Shane stops just outside the door. Inside the dark office Shane can see Sonic stop in the middle of the room and reach up to the roof. After a moment Shane hears a faint *click* as Sonic pulls a long tube down from the roof. It takes Shane a moment to realize what it is Sonic is holding, by then it's too late. Sonic had already stepped into Shane and swung the fluorescent tube. It connects with the side of Shane's head smashing the tube in half and sending Shane reeling. As Shane stumbles back he can feel a warm stream of liquid running from just below his ear. Sonic plants a boot in Shane's chest knocking him to the floor. Sonic takes what's left of the light tube and lays it across Shane's chest. Sonic slams his foot down onto the light tube, shattering it and grinding shards into Shane. Sonic: Yes! Sonic continues grinding the fragments of glass into Shane's chest, a cruel smile plastered across his face. Shane, fighting through the pain, looks up, into Sonic's eyes. That spark in his eyes, this is his element. He's missed this. Shane grabs Sonic's foot and twists it off his chest. Shane pushes himself to his feet, a mess of glass is embedded in his skin, blood runs freely from the incisions on his chest. Sonic stares in delight at Shane's chest. I wonder......would Drew still be number one if Sonic hadn't left? Sonic: It feels so good....doesn't it? Knowing you have the power to destroy someone else with your hands. The blood, the flesh, the thrill of the fight. Oooohhh, I've missed it. Tearing your opponent open, scarring his body, scoring his face.......excitement. Sensing Sonic has become distracted with thoughts of the past, Shane quickly scans the downtrodden gym. His eyes lock on a pile of discarded sporting equipment and an open storage locker, both less than 15 feet from where Shane stands. As Sonic still stands, distracted with his own thoughts Shane quickly dives to the pile of equipment and pulls something from the bottom of the pile. He then reaches into the storage locker and pulls out a coil of wire. After a moment Shane quickly spins around, in his hands is a football wrapped in barbwire. Shane: Sonic!! Sonic turns, pulled from his thoughts, as Shane launches the football at him. Out of instinct Sonic catches the football, with no realization of what's just happened. Sonic grasps the barbed football in his hands, blood seeps from his palms. Shane sprints across the room to Sonic and launches a huge dropkick. It connects with Sonic's chin, spinning him 180 degrees and knocking him to the floor, on top of the football. Shane then executes a standing splash onto the back of Sonic, deepening the impact of the barbed football that's trapped under Sonic. Shane stands as Sonic rolls onto his back, deep gashes become visible on Sonic's hands and stomach. Sonic: I always wished I could have had one last earth shattering fight before I left. Something that would forever leave an impact on the wrestling world. Although I can't get back into the ring this match of yours, against Drew, is going to be something I'll look at as piece of my history. You're fighting for me, you'll be the product of my knowledge and experience. Sonic sits up. Sonic: That's fine for today. We'll work some more tomorrow.
