Early morning. The world is waking. Streets are beginning to fill with traffic. Across the country everyone prepares for the eight hours of work that lays ahead of them. Countless cups of coffee are consumed, insurmountable pounds of newspaper are sifted through, a near endless amount of eggs are cracked for breakfast. Every state, city and town is preparing to head to another day at the office.

Cleveland, Ohio is no different that the rest of America. It's light are just coming on as the sun rises. One house stands apart from the rest of the state of Ohio. A large house, not overly imposing or noticeable, but big enough to know the owner has money. This house, owned by "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson has always been the focus of attention, not always because it was wished.

Through out the night one light has remained on, the kitchen light.

Shane Jackson stands shirtless in his kitchen. His arms are crossed over his chest as he stares through his sliding glass door into the backyard. Few of Shane's injuries have disappeared. He still bears many evident wounds from his match with Drew. A few feet behind Shane is a solid looking, wooden, kitchen table. On the table stands a full bottle of Jack Daniles, a single wooden crutch and the CWF Pro Title Belt. Strangely the Pro Title still bears the sliver name plate of it's former owner, Drew Carrig.

Shane: I sat down last night to fully close the door on Drew's title reign. All I had to do was remove his name from the title and replace it with mine, it should have been easy. I tried to do it, I tried to make it as simple as it should have been. Every time I began pulling his silver plaque off the title I had to stop. It didn't feel right. It was like a death, like closing the door to your brother's room because the cancer's finally caught up to him. Some things in life become difficult because of the emotion attached to them. I can't explain it but I feel like I've taken a piece of Drew's life, a piece he'll never see again.

Across the kitchen the pop of a toaster can be heard. Shane turns his head slightly, looking in the direction of the noise, then moves his attention back out to the yard.

Shane: It's because of Trent Rudiger that I'm still here, that I'm still breathing. I know he didn't intervene on my behalf, he did it because of Drew. I'm shouldering the burden, I'm facing Trent, I'm the bearer of the sin. In an obscure way Trent is owed a piece of the title. I'm sure in his mind he's already won it. He sees himself sitting in the locker room with the shining Pro Title across his knees. He's got his plan all worked out, he's made his decision and I'm supposed to pay for it. I won't be a hundred percent on Thursday, but I will be ready to fight, that's all that matters. You survive one war only to go onto another.

A TV can be heard in the room just off the kitchen. A voice, on the TV, is announcing that up next is a replay of last week's episode of Smallville. After a second or two of silence the theme for Smallville begins playing.

Shane: I've done very little for so many eyes to watch my movements. Everything I say and do is criticized. From day one I've had enemies lurking in the shadows. Some have chosen to reveal themselves, others wait quietly to stab me in the back. Paul Sterling has had me as a target since he first heard my name. He feels threatened my me, he's afraid I'm using my past to help procure my future. Will my life be hell at his hands? He's already calling in favors, bolstering his ranks to wipe me from existence.

Shane turns to the table. He drops one of his hands to the Pro Title and slowly runs his fingers across it's golden surface.

Shane: After I won this belt I made my way to the gym to see Sonic. I wanted to tell him that I'd beaten Drew, that I'd claimed his belt. When I go there all I found was a note. Is the world yours? He asked........no, it's not. A piece of leather and metal doesn't grant me the power to govern people's fate, it didn't grant it's predecessor that power. I can give my life to make this title respectable, I can bleed myself dry to give it influence, I can, and will, do it all to make sure the world knows what this title means. Drew gave it strength, I'll give it credibility, the credibility to be bigger than the World Title.

Shane's fingers come to rest on the silver plate bearing Drew's name. He stares at the name for a moment before slowly pulling it from it's place on the belt.

Shane: It's time for me to earn the right to wear this belt, I have to beat the man that brought it to me. I have to beat Trent Rudiger.

His fingers wrap tightly around Drew's name. He can feel it in his hand, it's silver, cold against his palm. In the other room the song from Smallville is just ending, and the show begins.

.:. Though I didn't use it in my RP it still plays it's part in the story. Below is the theme song from Smallville, it warrants a read since I feel it related to how Shane is feeling .:.

"Save Me"

I feel my wings have broken
In your hands
I feel the words unspoken
Inside
When they pull you under
And I would give you any thing you want
You were all I wanted
All my dreams are falling down
Crawling round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I've been waiting for you

I see the world has folded in your heart
I feel the waves crash down inside
And they pull me under
And I would give you anything you want
You were all I wanted
All my dreams have fallen down
Crawling round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I've been waiting for you

All my dreams are on the ground
Crawling' round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't' care how you do it
Just save me, save me
I've made this whole world shine for you
Just save, save
Come on
I'm still waiting for you
