| Scene opens to Richmond, Virginia, more specifically, to the lockeroom of the arena where IWF's Tuesday Rage is being held. Looking through the room you can
clearly see which changing cubbys have been asigned to
each IWF wrestler. There is a little tag taped to the
front of the top shelf of all the cubbies. Every wrestler
who's slated to appear on Rage has his assigned space.
Even wrestlers who aren't supposed to appear have their
names put on a cubbie, just incase they want to show up
at the arena and entertain the crowd for a little while
before the show starts, or after it ends. Just looking
down one of the rows of cubbies you can easily make out
which stars appear on IWF TV regularly and which make
random appearences, erradic, appearances. Every wrestler
who makes regular appearances has set them self into a
developed routine, that they go through, before each
show. Regulars also have their cubbies organized, or at
least less disoriented, than the wrestlers who make
varied TV appearances. So close to show time most of the wrestlers are making final preperations, or grabbing a quick snack from the buffet table, before the show 'officially' starts. At the moment the lockeroom only has a few of the IWF talent in it. Among these few stars is "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson. Shane is sitting on the bench in front of his assigned cubbie. He's wrapping sports tape around his wrist and forearms. He's clad in his wrestling attire. Next to Shane on the bench lays the IWF TV Title. Shane: Keeping up appearances, are we RoadHouse? That's the reason why you want a piece of me, isn't it? You can't have anyone show you up in the ring. You can't have someone show up on the wrestling scene that's might steal your spotlight. None of the wrestlers in the lockeroom pay any attention to the camera crew that's filming Shane's promo. They are used to being around television crews. Wrestlers become so used to the camera that they don't even pay attention to it unless they are the ones on it. Shane: You're getting anxious to try and take a piece of me. You're hoping that I'm going to be a push over like Steiner. You'd like it if I was a push over like Scotty 'cause it would make your life a lot easier. Steiner, to me, seems a little hyper active. He's ready to go after anyone who waves to him in the hallway. I'm sure if you gave him a candybar he'd run in circles for a good 20 minutes, trying to catch himself. I'm not like Steiner, an O Henry doesn't do it for me. Shane finishes wrapping his left wrist and forearm in tape. He immediately starts wrapping his right wrist and forearm the same way. Shane: You've noticed the way I've treated the IWF's precious TV Title. Make's you angry. I know that. It means a lot more to you than it does to me, RoadHouse. After all it's a significant piece of the IWF's history. I'm sure nobody else on the roster would treat the TV Title with the same disregard. Most everyone else would wear this title with pride. They'd strap it around their waist and show it off to everybody they see. They'd carry it out to the ring and kiss it in front of the fans. I wouldn't even be surprised if they loved it so much that they would give it it's own seat when they drove from venue to venue. That seems to be the difference between me and everyone else on the roster, I don't respect it. He finishes wrapping his right wrist and forearm in the tape and tosses the left over role into his cubby. Shane leans foreward resting his left elbow on his knee. With his right hand he picks up the TV Title and lays it over his other knee. Shane: At first, RoadHouse, I'm sure you were only coming after me because you wanted to cross me off your list, you wanted to be able to say that you've beaten me. After you saw what I did to the TV Title last week I believe you might have changed your reasons for wanting me in the ring. I think you're worried about what I might do to this title, that I might go further than just using it as a coaster. Shane looks down at the title draped over his knee. He slowly runs his hand over it's face, caressing it. He carefully feels every grove and texture on the surface of the title. Shane: What will I do to it? His hand stops moving. Shane looks up from the title. There's something eradiating from deep within his eyes, something malevolent and vicious. Without speaking a word Shane swing his one leg over the bench, stradling it. He reaches into his cubby picks something up. He holds it up only a few inches from his face. It looks like a handle. With his thumb he presses a little silver button on it. Suddenly a blade springs to life from within the handle. It's a switch blade. Shane positions the title on the bench and with his switch blade he proceed to slice an inch and a half piece off the end of the thick leather belt. When he finishes his delicate surgery on the belt he closes the switch blade and tosses it back into his cubby. Shane swings his leg back over the bench so the he fully faces the camera again. In his right hand he holds the TV Title, in his left he holds the inch and a half piece he cut off the strap. Shane: How much further will I go? Shane lays the TV Title on the bench and stands up. He turns and reaches into the top shelf of his assigned cubby. He pulls out a manilla envelope. Written in thick black marker on the front of the envelope is the name "RoadHouse". Shane drops the inch and a half piece of the belt into the envelope. He then reaches down and picks up his TV Title. Shane: I think your going to have to make a choice tonight RoadHouse. Which match means the most to you? Shane shakes the envelope. Shane: I'll be sure and tape this to your office door. A devilish smile creeps across Shane's face. Seconds later he steps off camera taking the envelope and TV Title with him. The last shot is a slow zoom in on the name plate on the cubby. "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson. FTB |
