Scene opens to large, empty field. The grass looks freshly mowed. It's easily distinguishable that the mower was moved in a linear pattern from one end of the field to the other. There are no trees or plants. Only the grass and several large rocks.
The field is not level. There are many large holes in the ground, all which are lined with grass. Looking at the craters in the field you get an image of an old battle field. One that has seen great wars. Great victories. Great defeats. And much death.
Cannon balls flying through the air, leaving scars across the land. Men, charging ranks and being killed. Generals shouting orders to their troops. Bodies scattered across the field. Medics rushing to the wounded. All are images seen in the history of this place. This old field.
Shane is standing in the middle of the field. His short, dark hair is gelled up. He is wearing a short sleve, denim shirt, that's open in the front. ICWA is monogrammed on the upper left hand side. He has on black, knee length cargo shorts and a pair of Addidas sports sandals.
A cool wind blows from the north, the same direciton Shane is facing.
Shane: This landscape has seen many battles. It has seen much loss, and much gain. These craters are all reminders of what happened here, of what took place. 2 sides. Both fighting for their ideals, and their way of life met here. At the time this was just farm land. It was quickly turned into a battle field, and has never been the same since. These holes will never go away. Sure they can be filled in with backhoes and front loaders, but it won't alter what people know about it.
Shane turns and points to a building off in the distance. It sits on the edge of the field. It only looks to be a few years old. It has a flat roof. The walls are white, there are many windows, evenly spaced in rows around the building. An asphalt lot sits off to the right of it.
Shane: That is a national war musem. This land was deemed a national treasure and now serves as a reminder. A reminder of what war not only does to people, but what it does to the ground it takes place on. It changes it.
Shane turns away from the building and looks back, north, into the wind.
Shane: We are in a war Jeckel. You and me. A war for the ICWA World Title. Your ideals and values versus mine. Our battle field is the ring at "The Return".
A smile crosses Shane's face.
Shane: There are going to be scars left across the ICWA's landscape when we are done. We are BOTH going to be changed when it concludes. How? We won't know until it happens. One of the two things I'm sure of is that this WILL be a great fight. Perhaps one of the greatest the ICWA will ever see. The second I'm sure of? That I am going to be the victor.
The smile on Shane's face fades a little.
Shane: My Pathway is heading straight for you Jeckel. I, above anyone else, deserve that Title. Since I have arrived I have been a monumental force in the shapeing of thie federation. Unlike you, who just appeared and took a seat a seat at the top, I have climbed up and earned every win. Straight up, I have fought more matches than anyone else in the entire federation. Match for match I have a better win percentage that anyone in the federation! And Pound for pound I am a better athlete than anyone in this federation!! I AM the Cleveland Express and I AM going to run you down. Next week the ICWA website is going to say: World Champion: "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson.
Shane reaches into one of the pockets on his cargo shirts and pulls out a pair of sunglasses. He holds them in his hand, but doesen't put them on.
Shane: There is something big brewing. Something much bigger than you and I, Jeckel. What that is I don't know. All, it seems, will be told at the PPV, and it may make "The Return" 3x as important.
Shane unfolds the arms on the sunglasses. He slowly raises them to his face. After putting them on, Shane changes the direction he's facing to South. Suddenly for no reason the wind suddely changes direction to. From North to South.
Shane: The winds of change are coming. The only question is, What is it that's changing?
Shane looks out, Southward, across the field. The sounds of battle start to fade in. A cannon is fired. Men, yelling as they lead a charge. The cannonball smashing violently to the ground, sending chuncks of earth and human in different directions. Drums being rapped upon as a platoon marches onto the field. Screams of death. Muskets and another cannon firing. Medics mumbling about a mans chances for survival. A general rallies his men. Another exlosion as a cannonball blows a hole in the earth.
The scene begins fading out. The sounds seem to get louder, though, until the picture is comepletely gone, then the sounds begin to quiet themselves.
