As in most, typical Sunday morning fashion, churches are packed with followers of God. This crisp, wintery, Sunday is no different. Residents of Detroit Michigan are packed into a local church. They sit in the pews waiting for the minister to start the service.
The environment inside the church is, just slightly, too warm. Patrons are bundled for winter, wearing sweaters or several layers of clothing. With the church being on the warm side it is only a matter of time before people begin sweating or becoming uncomfortable. To many of the church goers the atmosphere is, in some way, just a little off. Usually the church is cold, another reason why the people wear sweaters and long johns. They can all feel something about the church is different. What's different? They don't know.
The choir files into their seat, up on the raised stage, behind the minister's alter. As they file in the people in the pews stand. The entrance of the choir, usually, signals that the service is about to start. The choir enters and take their positions. They lead the people in a song.
Halfway through the song the minister enters. He's dressed, from head to toe, in a white robe. Hanging down, over his shoulders, is a long purple scarf. In his hands he carries a Bible. As he approaches the alter the people in the pews are able to get a better look at him. He's not their normal minister. Their minister is old, and balding. This man isn't. He's young. He has all of his hair, and perhaps the most unusual thing about him is that he's wearing a pair of CK sungalsses Even though he's indoors and about to perform a church service he leaves the shades on.
The choir finishes their song and the people are, one again, seated. As the people prepare for the service a whisper, quickly, runs through the crowd. A number of people, not all of them wrestling fans, have suddenly realised who the new minister is. "Natural Wonder" Shane Jackson.
As Shane begins to speak the people quiet down.
Shane: Welcome, on this lovely Sunday morning. Like you I'd rather be doing something else, instead of being here worshiping the invisible. Truth is, I that I have a reason for being here. No, it's not to boar you with a Psalm, or tell you about how you're all going to hell because everything God say's contradicts itself. No, I have something, much more important, to reveal to you.
Curiosity begins to set in on the partons. If he's not going to talk about church and Jesus then why is he here?
Shane: Recently another part of the Bible has been discovered.
The people gasp in awe. They are all wondering the same thing. What secrets does this new piece hold? Does it explaine existence? Or reveal new rules to follow?
Shane: Like Mark, Luke, John and Matthew, this new section is a book.
This arouses even more questions throught the crowd. Who wrote this book? What is his relationship with religion? Was he an unknown disciple?
Shane: The writer of this book doesn't reveal his first name. Only his last. I know experts are going to spend years analysing this new find, in an attempt to verify it's authenticity. Before they get the chance though, I want to read to you from it. I know you're wondering, "How did he get posession of the book?". Let's just say I was the one that discovered it.
The people settle in and prepare to listen to the words of a new figure of worship.
Shane: And now...I present to you....a reading from the BOOK OF JACKSON.
As he announces it's title he pulls the purple scarf from his shoulders and tosses it away. In one, fluid, motion he unzips the white robe and lest it fall to the floor. Underneath the robe Shane is wearing a black T-shirt with the words: "Got Milk? I hope not", in white. A pair of white Dockers pants and Adidas basketball shoes finish his appearance.
Shane: "It is prophecised that in the year 2000 and 2 a great evil will fall upon the world. The gates of hell will swing wide and realease 4 demons. 2 of these demons will have made their way to earth early and already begin the turn of destruction. They will be looked upon, by many, as being great. The last 2 demons will be revealed, to the world, in surprise. Together these 4 men will cause much havoc and disaster." Little about these 4 men is revealed. Their is a clue to their identities though.
Shane begins pacing back and forth across the raised stage, Bible in hand. The audience is so captivated by the revelations of the book and the speaking power of Shane that they no longer notice the temperature inside the church.
Shane: "One will be seen as a Guardian, another as a ruthless pirate, these are the ones who will be reveald. The two that were already present: One is a legend of many years, the other has many Accolades." As you can see the clues give you very little information. We may never know who these 4 hell demons are. There is one final bit of information, in the book, about them.
Shane pauses. He looks out over the pews. Every eye in the church is fixed on him. On his every movement.
Shane: "The pirate and the legend will cause much upset. They will make claim to an Era. As their first act in this Era they will defeat 2 brothers of great skill and strength, they will take their golden possessions and be seen as victorious." I know these revelations are disturbing and frightening. It wouldn't be kind of me to let you people walk out of here with fear in your minds. The book does elude to a saving grace.
The patrons, as well as the choir, sit unwavering in their seats, waiting for the next word.
Shane: "Two warriors will emerge to combat these demons. They come not from heaven, but from the world it's self. They walk among the population as people, though they have a bigger purpose. The first warrior is one of obscurity. Living under a false name, he only reveals himself when met with much trouble. His true name is unknown, his secret identity is described as: A man from the sea, who will reveal his one wing. The second man is said to be: A person of great Wonder, with many Natural abilities." Again, the descriptions of these men are too obscure to understand. These men will, without a doubt, be the focus of many researchers studies.
Not one of the Jesus huggers in the church is lost in a day dream. They hunger for every letter and phrase that Jackson throws them.
Shane: "These two, mighty, warriors will face the Era. An event that will decide the path the gold will take. It is prophecised that the Era will fall and that gold will adorn the waist's of the warriors."
Shane closes the bible he holds and places it on the alter.
Shane: Now I'm a smart man and all I'm doing is making a guess here but I think I know what that passage from the BOOK OF JACKSON was saying. Come Monday night we might just see The 4th Era fall flat on it's face. The "Year of the Natural Wonder" is far more important that any Era that Smack, Rueffio, or Azure can come up with.
Shane signals that the people in the church can leave. It only takes a few minutes for them to clear the pews. Everything fades to black as Shane stands behind the alter, looking out at the empty church.
