Seeing a new stadium being built is a tremendous sight. Watching as the building slowly takes shape over the months is truly awe inspiring. Steel girdrs, bags of cement, rebar, it's all the things that people never pay much attention to that makes the stadium what it is. Few people ever look at a stadium and see what it truly is, a long labour of love, most people see it as a new home for their football or baseball team. They take for granted the work that went into creating it.

Glenndale Arizona. Site of the Arizona Cardinals' new stadium. Construction has already begun and has been underway for some time, it's completion date is sometime in 2006. Eventhough the stadium doesn't even had a finished roof it's already been named the home of the 2008 Super Bowl. Strange that a bunch of suits can have so much confidence in a building that's yet to have seats put in or washrooms installed. A few hundred feet away from the construction site stands Shane Jackson. He quietly watches as a flatbed truck makes it way into the construction site hauling metal sheets, part of the retractable roof that's slowly taking shape on top of the unfinished building.

Shane: After that building's completed fans are going to flood to it. People will want to see the new home of the Cardinals'. Everyone that steps through the gates are going to look at it and compare it to the Cardinals' old home. It won't have the history or the memories that the old stadium does. It won't have a legacy, and that's what it's all about....legacy. Isn't that right Paul? You took the first major step in creating a legacy for yourself last week by capturing the Pro Title. You've got it around your waist now, which is fine. Just remember you're the one with the target on your back now. You're gonna be the one that has to watch his step cause every kid with a dream of gold and a spark of talent is going to be chasing you. You and me Paul, I figure there's one match left between us. We're one and one against each other so there's a tie breaker somewhere down the road.

Shane turns a way from the stadium and begins walking out toward the suburban area of Glenndale.

Shane: Right now Paul you and me are on the back burner. You've got Jacob Star this week and me, I've got an old friend. Isn't that right Diablo? It's been a while since we've locked up. Over a year if I remember right. It really didn't surprise me when you won the World Title, I knew you had it in you. There's been something I've been puzzling over though...Arioch. You won that title and he just disappeared into thin air. Makes me wonder if there wasn't more to that match that what people saw on TV. What did you have on him Diablo, what kind of dirt? Maybe you slipped him a few hundreds under the table at breakfast one morning? He goes down in the fourth and makes a quiet exit out the back door, that how it worked? You get the title, make it look like you're the better man and you get to surf around the CWF looking down on everyone who crosses your path.

Shane crosses the street away from the stadium and enters suburbia. Sidewalks and brick houses as far as the eye can see. Blacktop driveways and an SUV in every garage. If you live in the suburbs then you're average, nothing more and nothing less.

Shane: In most cases Diablo there really hasn't been anyone to challenge you. Arioch disappeared the second he lost, Amusa hasn't been anything more than a one night guest appearence and Steele...you and I both know, Diablo, that Gabe couldn't light a gasoline candle at a book burning convention. I know you're only playing mind games with the kidl. That four way match last week, I laughed when I saw him pin you, I know what you're doing. You're letting the kid get his hopes up, you're letting him think he's got enough skill to challenge you and then what....The Finale rolls around and you've got him right where you want him to be. You get him in a one on one match and what do you do? You'll squash him in five minutes and leave his dreams in a pile of rubble in the middle of the ring. It's cruel Diablo but you know, I didn't expect any less from you. So let Steele psyche himself up and go into The Finale thinking he's going to come away a winner. After you deflate his ego and destroy his future you can laugh to yourself and party till the sun comes up. Then maybe you'll be ready to face someone who poses a challenge to you. We meet this week Diablo but neither of us are going to go all out if we know there's nothing on the line. You can't lose your title and I can't win it so why use every trick we know if there's nothing to gain.

As Shane passes one of the many red brick houses a man come running out of the door. Two steps behind the man is a woman, presumabley his wife. She's screaming at the top of her lungs as the man stands on the lawn trying to reason with her. After a moment the woman disappears back into the house, seconds later she returns with an armfull of the man's clothes. She screams at him for another few minutes then tosses the clothes out onto the front lawn. Shane throws a quick glance over at the domestic dispute, then continues on his way down the sidewalk.

Shane: Remember our last meeting Diablo? A two hour match that culminated into the biggest night in CWF history. Neither of us were able to come away a winner in that match but we did gain the respect of the entire world. Now look at us. You've had an empty championship reign and me, well I had a decent run as Pro Champion, nothing special though. You want to be back on top of the world as much as I do Diablo and we both know the only way we're going to do that is by facing each other.

Everything around Shane, the couple fighting, a car pulling out of a driveway, children riding bikes, it all slows to a slow crawl..

Shane: Finish the game you're playing with Steele, finish it up and move onto a fight you actually care about.

Shane smiles

Shane: See you soon Diablo.

Shane continues along the sidewalk as the world around him still moves with the speed of a snail. As Shane rounds a corner and disappears from view the world suddenly jumps back into full motion, back to it's normal pace...as it should be.
