Our Lady of Fatima
This statue was donated by Mrs. E. Periera for favours received from Our Lady. The clergy processed from the Church to the Periera's home where the Archbishop blessed the statue and crowned her. Then approximately 200 people, each carrying a lite candle, processed back to the Church with four ladies carrying the statue on their shoulders [the picture shows the statue still on the bier]. Three children dressed in their First Communion clothes carried a large Rosary in front of the statue. During the procession, everyone sang several hymns honouring Our Lady. Ava Maria was sung as the statue entered the Church. A Solemn High Mass was then sung by the Archbishop. A reception followed hosted by Mr. & Mrs. E. Periera.
