Surely I Can

Andrea Heins
October 9/02

The road is wet dear -- careful, now
Bring me home safe in your car
Thank all your stars I don't drive
I'm distracted...
See the streetlights' reflection
On the water -- they're upside down!
Pillars holding the road in place
We are floating through time and space (x5)

If it's not impossible for us to drive on this highway
Suspended by flaming pillars then surely I can win you...
And your affections.

You said your instinct never fails
I guess it told you that I would fail
Your instinct doesn't know me
I'm beginning to think that you don't know me

If it's not impossible for us to drive on this highway
Suspended by flaming pillars then surely I can win you...
And your affections.

The road is wet dear -- careful, now
Bring me home safe in your car

Every time it rains now you will see me
Standing in the street; I pray, please leave me
All I'm thinking about's a little maybe

If it's not impossible for us to drive on this highway
Suspended by flaming pillars then surely I can win you...
And your affections.
