Poem

by Andrea Heins

A final moment of sunlight
Before I start to cry
One last sweet memory
Under a black goodbye sky
The rain starts falling down
Like death rain over Eridu
I'll wither and I'll die
My soul destroyed by truth

I feel quite accomplished
To have fooled myself so long
Denial works in strange ways
In weakness I felt strong
I thought it quite uncommon
But it isn't unheard of
Truth can destroy what feels right
My confuséd love
