Love's Gift
Did you hear that?
That little cry.
That is the sound of happiness happening.
When I hold our baby for the very first time
I will hold a gift of love
Created by the hand of God above
-and the joining of our souls
It will give our world another sweet touch
of tenderness and love.
Just think of it.
Two trusting eyes that put the starlight in.
Giggles such as from a waterfall.
and a tiny sleepy sigh
like a soft breeze passing by.
Such a precious gift from you and I.
With little toes to play with
and tiny hands to hold
Our little ray of sunshine
all wrapped in a rainbow
of wonder, hope and joy.
