I had shut myself off
from the world around me
Numb these last years
Being there but never really feeling the warmth of the sunrise
Watching but never really seeing the beauty of a sunset
Always struggling for a way back to me
Always wishing for a dream come true...
And then you came into my life
And it was time
Gradually...painfully...angrily...happily...
I felt myself break out of this protecting cocoon
A wonder to be free...
Taking my wings to flight...
Wanting to experience all this world has to offer
and now it is you and I
