Cliffside Cabin, Haliburton, Fleming School of the Arts Summer Rental

Advantages

To grandmother's house for tea!

Welcome to our little hideaway. The studio cabin is located on a co-owned historic resort (building was started in 1939) about three kilometres from Haliburton Village and the School of the Arts' main campus. Recently renovated, the cabin shares a dramatic view of Lake Kashagawigamog with seven other units near the main lodge building.

Please read carefully:

This furnished cabin comes with one double bed in a low sleeping loft, accessed by a folding, retractable attic ladder, and one double pull-out couch on the main level. It is best suited to one (comfy) or two (cosy) adult persons. . It is NOT wheel-chair accessible due to its location (sorry).

Let's be clear that this place is very SMALL (Studio) and is our home away from home. It is not a commercial rental such as would be found in a regular hotel, or b&b. Repeat: it is not a hotel.

Because it is not a hotel, and we do not request a damage or cleaning deposit, we do our own cleaning and condition checks. Sometimes our schedule prevents us from making the three hour drive north and therefore we ask that guests leave the cabin in good condition inside and out. If you cannot do light cleaning, please look elsewhere. for accommodation.

Guests are asked to bring their own bed and bath linens, and to respect our 'no pets, no smoking' rule. People with pet allergies should know that pets have been in the cabin in the past. Our "no pets" rule is to reduce wear-and-tear, smells, and to be kind to our co-owner neighbours, as a barking dog left alone during the daytime is highly unpopular. Also, one of us has a dog allergy.

Hot and cold running water is available for drinking, bathing and dish washing. We draw from a well, and the water is regularly tested and treated.

There is no standard kitchen, but the space comes with a sink, small food prep area, a microwave oven, bar fridge, double burner hot-plate and a kettle for tea and coffee-making as well as a TV and DVD player (NO CABLE), stereo CD and tape player, There is a propane barbecue on the outside stone landing. For safety reasons, the toaster oven is for gently reheating and toasting ONLY. If you have greasy meats etc, please use the barbecue.

Please note - rental for this space is summer seasonal only - we are not winterized.
