The Burlington Blue Bike Project kicked off in the summmer 2000, when we stationed about
75 bicycles around the city. It was designed to give people free alternative
means of transportation around the city of Burlington, Ontario.
We stationed blue painted bicycles around the city in hopes
that people would use them and drop them at designated spots for others
to pick them up. Our hope was that during the warm months, instead of
driving all around the city, citizens would be able to simply
hop a bicycle and ride it where they were going, and leave it
there, where others could use it. |
