Rocky ... June 2006 - June 2007 ... "
"I can't tell you how broken hearted I still am, and I know you're as devastated as I am. He was the one horse I owned who wasn't for sale, and he was the sweetest horse on the property. No one could believe he was a stud colt. I already had several people waiting to breed to him, and I was getting ready to take him to CA for some hunter breeding classes in June and July, and then the IHF in August.
I actually went to your site a few days ago, and saw Midas- he's beautiful. I would have loved to have had Rocky's brother, but I'm glad for you that he's going to Europe- that's fantastic, Donna.
I'm still at a loss for words over this, and I'm so sorry to you that our wonderful boy will never get the chance to show the world what a star he should have been.

Nikita "Spot Me In Vegas"
"Nikita" - a stunning palomino Thoroughbred filly, by Sato out of Elmer's Pride was born on April 9, 2002 at 1:00 am.
She is a beautiful golden palomino filly with a big blaze and 2 hind stockings. She was up-and-at-'em within minutes of being born and was bucking around the stall shortly thereafter!
This is a visually stunning filly that will be a serious show or race competitor in the years to come.
She will also be dual registered as a Paint with the APHA.
Origin of her name:
Eisaku Sato was the Prime Minister of Japan and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 1974.
By taking the first part of her dam's name and combining it with "Sato", we (actually my friend Pam!) came up with the feminine version - "Elle Mersato".
"Mersato" is Japanese for "Don't Be One of the Crowd" which is VERY fitting considering the very unique breeding program that we are involved with!

Johnny Onna Spot "A Spot I Got" (Buffy)
This simply magnificent Spot Pocket colt out of Old Standby (by Stage Door Johnny out of La Vera) was born on Easter Sunday - April 15th, 2001.
Fabulous long legs, very correct conformation, the "BEST" mover and markings to die for! Out of a mare that is just under 17hh tall, he looks like he should surpass her in height! Stands just under 14.1hh at 8 months of age!
His 2 front stockings go up to his knees with one going up behind the knee and the other going on to the face of the knee. His 2 hind stockings go up to his hocks, and then speckle and splash almost to his stifles.
He has a large white belly spot with pink skin underneath.
His face is ziggedy zaggedy and bald, with one side going up over the eye, and other side ending at his eye with a large white dot over the eye. The blaze extends on to his lower lip and the white speckles all the way under his jaw to his throat latch area. Up each side of his face are 2 long white slashes up to his cheek bones.
In between his 2 forelegs are splashes of white and speckling extending along his belly to his stifles.
Origin of his name:
Stage Door Johnny is the champion sire of his dam - Old Standby, and Spot Pocket is his sire.
We initially tried for Johnny On The Spot, which was already in use, and then we looked at his grand dam's name - La Vera - which is Italian sounding, and came up with the Italian sounding "Johnny Onna Spot" - encompassing family names as much as possible.
His barn name was initially going to be "Loo" - as in the english equivalent of a Johnny On the Spot, but then we decided on the masculine version - and "Lou" it was!
This is one spectacular colt and we are so very pleased with him! Contact us now for details on purchasing this magnificent colt that is dual registered as both a Thoroughbred with the Jockey Club and in the Regular APHA registry as a Paint!
