Welcome To My Land

June 29,1999

Many of you are used to seeing me put up pages on Domestic Violence. I thought it was about time I took a little break and showed you what my life is like today.(Mom and Dad, you don't have to worry about your firstborn daughter anymore!) This is a love story. The love I have for one man, and the love of my natural surroundings. Quite a bit of our spare and not so spare time is spent traveling around our beautiful state.

The rumors are true! I do know how to cut loose and have a little fun. My fellow Knights can attest to that fact, in fact they may say I like to have a little too much fun.(I'm a resident cut-up in chat! No, I'm not sorry.)

I live very close to the Adirondack Mountains with my husband,Kevin, and five cats.

The title I'm most proud of is that of"Tweets."(Stands for "Wife of Kevin!") This title was bestowed on me, May17, 1997. There's no greater honor in the world, at least not in my eyes! The midi you hear playing in the background is Truly Madly Deeply, and this is how I feel about Kev.

We were wed in a little country chapel in Saratoga County. In fact, the only purpose of this little chapel is to host weddings. Many wondered at our choice, but since we love the country so, it seemed like the perfect choice for us! My oldest son gave me away, and my oldest daughter was my maid of honor. What a tribute they gave me, their approval of my choice. My 3 granddaughters also took part, trust me on this one, you can clearly hear them in the video! My brother kindly taped the service for us. Thank you Joe!

Those of you that know us realize that for the first year we were together we couldn't be found on the weekends. We managed to put over 30,000 miles on our little Mazda. We spent the time traveling the mountains of NY and Vermont. I find a lot of peace and beauty in these regions. That first year was a time of change for us, and the weekends were reserved for spending time together. They still are, but now we're spending them remodeling our home.

Lake George is just a skip down the road for us. I wouldn't advise skipping out there though. Summer brings tourists to the area and some own the highway. They're quite willing to tell you so and you don't even have to ask. This is one of the first pics I shot with a digital camera. Dunhams Bay is a favorite spot for sailboat enthusiasts.

The area around Old Forge and Inlet,NY is absolutely gorgeous. There's an area running through known as the chain lakes. I believe that there are eight of them. This photo was taken at dusk on an overcast day. Even when the sun isn't bright, my region is beautiful.

This is a photograph of the sun setting over a mountain lake, high in the Adirondacks. I've always loved the setting sun with it's glorious colors. I call them skyshows! The photograph at the beginning of this page was taken by my dad from his front porch. I just thought I'd toss it in because it's so hot here today!

Just look at this sky! Kev managed to catch this one on another of our trips. It looks like the clouds are spraying all over the sky. What a skyshow God gave us that day.

Another favorite place to visit is Yaddo, just outside of Saratoga, just look at this fountain. Yaddo is a collection of gardens built in the late 19th century as a living testimony of one man's love for his wife! May-be that's why I enjoy visiting so much.

And that's not all, here I am sitting in the woods at Yaddo, with my favorite companion. Ahhhhh, thank you Kevin for taking me to my special places of peace!

I found this interesting tree in the woods that surround Yaddo. I'm strange like that, I'll take pics of dead trees that have, what I think, are interesting shapes.

We have a friend who lives high in the Saranac Lake region. Kevin has teasingly called him, My Hero. Don't let his looks fool you, this is a very intelligent individual. His stories are true tall tales though so take them with a pail of salt, not the proverbial pinch.(Sorry B-Not!!!)

I'm a proud member of the Knights of Kindness. I'm sure my fellow Knights picked up on that little fact when they noticed the background here! We're a worldwide orginazition dedicated to make changes, one smiling face at a time! The two banners at the bottom of this page are orginazitions we support. We also have a webring dedicated to bringing missing children home. Check this out by clicking on the banner below. I also ask you to check out The Knights of Kindness and Dragonslayers Homepage. Don't let the name BaddTeddy scare you, Steven's a wonderful guy!

While you're here check out #1 Cat, her link is in the list. This page is still under construction though. I hear that Deuter has a few more pics to put in. She took control of the keyboard while I was away!

I'm so proud! One of my fellow Knights sent me an award for these pages. Thank you Angela! Please click on the animated globe to visit her site.

Now it's time to continue on to:

Please take the time to check out our campaign for missing and abused children. Click on the banner below to learn more about it. I will be adding more information on subsequent pages as I develop this site. This is something close to my heart, I know the pain of not knowing where a child is. Gratefully, my child is home and safe today but many children aren't. Many are working to help bring these children home, the internet is just one tool we use. It's more than e-mail and chatrooms! It's a source of education and research. Thanks Kev for this tool! You had no idea how very much you gave me. I'm not so sure that everyone in cyberspace is grateful that I've been turned loose on them, but I am so very grateful to be able to share my experience with others here.

September 11,2001 I got a phone call that morning, it was my son asking if I had the television on, and when I said no he told me to turn it on quickly. I was horrified at what I was seeing! The WTC attacked, the buildings. . .well you know. It's all over the news now. Kev's sister works for United, so that was something else I had to find out. Where is Sue? I called Kev at work and me made the decision to head south, toward the city where he had lived and worked for so long. We eventually found his sister, and I have managed to contact many friends, some through the internet, phone service was knocked out for a time. I can tell you many stories of New Yorkers, of other Americans, but this is the important one. I saw many people, who have never met before, reaching out and helping one another. Many gave their own lives so that others could survive. Yes we were wounded, yes we bled and cried, but we stood united as President Bush announced that this was an act of war. All of America is behind him. As I type this I know that there are about eighty other countries who have lost citizens in this terrorist attack. We are seeking justice.

May God Bless America! May He keep her leader in the palm of His hand through the times to come. It's not vengeance we are looking for, but justice.
