As usual this is a rare update, only 4 years after my last one.
We're still in Patterson, Ca. We being Corrine, Miki, Manuel and Corry. Tondra has moved to Ceres.
Now I am 9 years cancer free. Unfortunately Corations LLC was discontinued not enough business. Miki as usual is our saving grace. Always able to (knock on wood) find work since he is a great CAD/Engineer.
Now though it's Corrine, Manny and I that are looking for work. I am getting a small amount from SSA but not enough to support myself.
As far as the news here I think most people have gathered from my facebook page all about this and in fact I may do away with this page all together. Or at least just refer a link to my facebook page. Anyway that being said I do want to acknowledge the losses of the past 4 years. My Sister Kitty and cousin Pam a couple of years ago. My Mom last year and Miki's Mom (Penny Hill) this year. Heaven has these great women who have all made large impressions on my life, my love and my respect for women and all they do for us!!
God bless them and all of my family and friends who make life here on earth so enjoyable. When the time comes (and pray that won't be for a long time) I only hope I can join them in heaven.

As usual this is a rare update, only 3 years after my last one.    We're still in Patterson, Ca. We being Corrine, Miki, Manuel and Corry. Tondra has moved to Texas. :-(    Good news is I'm five years cancer free. Yay! Miki has a new company... Corations.Click on company name to check out the website.
Corrine and I are still looking for work. Like so many people we're doing the facebook thing so you can find us there. Though I actually doubt anyone even looks at my website anymore.
Just in case. Manny is working on fixing a beetle (VW) at Patterson High School and Corry is enjoying Apricot Valley, which does the year long school thing so is occasionally off for a month at a time.
(After June Corry will be going to Jr. High and Manuel will be a sophmore.)  May 26, 2007

Sorry to anyone who has been coming by to check on me and my family. Well, we have made the move...although I think most of you know that already for those out of the loop... we're in beautiful Patterson California. Since I grew up just a little way down the road from here (in Gustine) it's just like going back to my childhood.
Miki has a long comute over the mountain and Corrine, Tondra, Manny and Corry are getting used to the small town atmosphere. None of them like the increased insect population, but they're coping.
Healthwise we're all doing okay. As for my cancer it seems to be cured, though the VA hasn't given me the "official" okey'dokey.
Miki survived a crash and burn accident on the Altamont Pass. Unfortunately his dad (Michael E. Hill Sr.) didn't survive his diabetes. Which I am sure accouted for his heart attack that took him from us at such young age(57yrs). RIP Michael

Well it seems like quite a large update I have this time. Starting with Intel where I was working until it landed me in the emergency ward. Actually cancer landed me in the hospital which at least showed the people at Intel that I wasn’t slacking off out of laziness.
Anyway now I’m 23 pounds lighter it looks like the big “C” isn’t going to stay… so far so good. Only hope I didn’t cut off my ponytail for nothing. On the other hand short is better then bald. (Except in my big brothers case.)
Now I’m recuperating and we’re in the middle of moving and poor Corrine is packing and getting kids ready for school that they have to attend for just a few weeks.
Car was egged and local hoods once again pushed us to calling the police on them … the adventures just keep coming. Well at least no earthquake!!! Sorry Corrine shouldn’t have used the “E” word.
Miki’s job once again our main income while I try to get unemployment or disability to help. Although most of my money will probably go to a humongous hospital bill I’m expecting to see.

 July 14, 2005

For this update first and foremost I should say the grandkids have all improved their grades enough to pass and are in good health.
Miki has finally found a job where they will pay him what he's worth. Corrine has quit work at 7/11 to prepare to move. (Hopefully back to Milpitas.) Also the kids are out of school for the summer so that and preparing for the renwal of their wedding vows for their 10th anniversary in Monterey will keep her real busy.
As for me I'm still unemployed and with the grandkids being released for the summer should have an added incentive to find work soon !!!

 March 22, 2005

Basically everthings the same here. Kelly Services has got me small assignments at SCIOS and Alza Corp both Johnson & Johnson associates. Other then taht I'm living on unemployment.   Corrine's birthday (the 19th) went well although she had to work her Looney friends gave her a real nice party that Miki captured on her new digital video/mp3 player/sound/picture taking camera.   We will be moving soon so everyone is stressing over that. I'm not sure but even the grandkids seem to be, all of there grades have dropped dramatically. Well God willing we'll make through this alright. Just another bump in the road of life.

 January 13, 2005

Well lots has happened since my last update but since no one seems to check my site unless I direct them to it doesn't really matter. (Except Miki who not only checks but notifies me of bad links and mistakes... thank you Miki!)
Good news is Corrine has a new job at 7/11 a couple of blocks from here, bad news is Intel along with Kelly Services agreement (1yr. minimum @Intel) have once again left me unemployed and I can't go back until June. Good news is Corrine has a live in babysitter, bad news is I'm going crazy. Actually although stressful it's not bad having some quality time with them.
Miki is still working in Gilroy. Long comute for little pay. We all hope that changes soon. (No one more then Miki.)
Grandkids are in good health as are the rest of us. Not counting the on going colds. Tondra is having trouble with her grades. Manny is having trouble paying attention in school and seems to be passing it on to Corry. Hopefully it's just spring fever and will get better.
That's it for this update. Soon to come, pictures of Intel and the great (and not so great) co-workers I left behind there.     Peace, love and God bless all!

 August 3rd, 2004

Okay I finally got the Reis Family reunion pictures up. Click here to see. For all those who made it look for yourselves and for all those who didn't (and you know who you are) see what you missed. Great weather and even my brother Mike showed up. A miracle and you all missed. Shame shame we know your name(s)!!

Anyway all is going well with my family. Miki's working and I am too so that's always good. Kids are getting lots of one on one time with mom. Although Corrine is going bonkers. But isn't that what parenthood is all about. (As always will write more later.)

 June 6th, 2004 !!

Latest news from my branch of the Reis family. First and foremost Mary's mom Corrine's grandmother Flo died last week.(click here for my memorial page. Albeit small.) Also Aunt Lucille passed away in May. God bless them, at least they've joined their spouses and the rest of our loved ones who have gone before us. On this anniversary of D-day I ask ou to not only pray for their souls but all who have left this plane and gone on to the next.
On the up side I'm back at Intel in Newark, closer to home and with a better possibilty of becoming a full time Intel employee.
Miki's got a job finally. It's in Gilroy so it means a long commute, but hopefully they'll realize how good he is and pay him what he's worth. Corrine has her health at least physical and the kids have their health. All are having a rough time dealing with the lost of the "Leonard clan's matriarch.

Also an up note we have a new pet.

His name is Rusty. Click here to see a larger pic!

I will try to update more often. Since I have my new computer to work with. (More on it later too :-))

 December 4th, 2003 !!

Well here it is Christmas is coming up on us really soon and I haven't updated for months. That is partly due to the fact I haven't been working and my home computer locks up if I access the internet too long. (Or sometimes it just locks up to irritate me I think.)
Anyway I am now back at Intel, until February 1st. Just in time for Christmas. At least it gives me a little gift money, but mainly it should help catch up on the bills.
Although Corrine's job at the Spirit store didn't last (her bitch... I mean boss and her didn't get along) she at least connected with the ones who are running a clothing discount store out of the same building for the month of December and is working there for a month.
Scratch that last bit about Corrine's new job. They cut her below (way below) what she's worth. So she is currently looking for another decent paying job.
Miki is still the only one with a permanent position. (If there is such a thing in bushy economy.)
I never should have said anything. Now Miki's jobless too. :-(
It's times like this we have to remember the true reason we celebrate Christmas!!

It's not the presents we give it's the present God gave us. (His only son!!)

Grandkids are holding up well. Corry's not in school yet. Manny's doing better and also is in soccer. Tondra's... well what can one say about an, almost, teenager !!! (Sorry Miki I didn't mean to use the "T" word.) She will be playing basketball again soon right now she assists Manny's soccer coach.
I will (really) try and update more and also put new pictures up... honest!!

 July 2003's

page will be here a little longer for those who haven't seen it yet.

Okay here's what's happened so far this year. The beginning wasn't real eventful. I finished my assignment at Intel last month. Unfortunately because of my temporary services policy with Intel I won't be able to work for them (Intel) until November. Kelly Services are looking for other work for me though it probably won't be as much pay.

The last month was definitely an adventure. First off Corrine was confronted by one of the teenage boys in the neighborhood who thought he was tough and started hitting her. Although I chased him away and Corrine didn't beat the crap out of him. (Him being underage.)

Two teenage boys who held Corrine back so she couldn't defend herself, later in the month beat up the boy (after he apparently gave one of their moms a bad time.) Funny how they changed sides when he attacked their parent.

Then a couple of weeks later Miki took pictures of one local hood lighting firecrackers the boy and later his mother threatened to have the boys father beat him up. It seems to most of the locals here fighting is there solution to all that goes wrong.

Well all is well that ends well I guess. The police told the lady who threatened Miki if anything bad happens to us, no matter what, she will be the first one they go to. And as I mentioned before the first punk got his payback from his own (so called) friends.

The good news is all my family here (in Fremont) are healthy. Miki's diabetes the only exception but at least he keeps that under control. Corry, Manuel and Tondra are doing great. Manny's in summer school and other two are keeping Corrine and me busy.

Corrine, Miki and I went to the NASCAR race at Sears Point/ Infineon Raceway. It was great most fun 14 hours I've had in a long time. Although my favorite driver (Ward Burton), Miki's favorite (Rusty Wallace) and Corrine's (Dale Earnhardt )  didn't fare too well. Manny's and a lot fans favorite Jeff Gordon came in second.

So that's about it for now I'm still unemployed, Miki is working as a Design Engineer and Corrine is going to work at the Spirit Store in August.

My dad (Uncle Dick to most.) is having hip surgery and are prayers are with him and all our (Reis) family and friends.

God Bless and take care of you all. Rev. Rick.
