2. How did he get there?
3. Why do Mercutio and Benvolio give up and go home?

Scene 3

We are introduced to Friar Laurence, a priest and Romeo’s confidante.
His opening lines are quite important to the play. 

1. Read lines 1- 31 out loud. Then, read them again silently to yourself.
Try to put the following lines in your own words. 
( don’t worry about the exact meaning of every word, but see if you can get the general idea.)

3. What criticism did the Friar have of Romeo’s feelings for Rosalind?
