Task: Do ONE of the following.

1) In no more than ten sentences, describe a scene. Pay attention to sentence rhythm, and sentence length. Choose words carefully. You must include one and only one simile. Two sentences - highlight them - must be predominantly "hard" or "soft" in sound. Yes, one can be hard and the other soft. One sentence must be fast or slow. Highlight it. If the fast or slow sentence is one of the hard or soft sentences, indicate this in the margin - i.e. hard/fast. At least one sentence MUST be a question.

2) Pick one of the following body parts:  the hand, the eye, the lips, the foot, the hair, the nose, the teeth, or the toes.   In a piece no longer than ten sentences, six of which begin with the same subject - use a combination of nouns and pronouns - convey to the reader the special importance this body part has to you. Again, you must pay attention to word choice and sentence length and rhythm. There must be one simile. Obviously, personification is permitted.
