Learning to Code- Graphics

You might be wondering ,  "How do I put pictures on my web page?"
Well, put quite simply, you don't.
On your web page, you stick directions to your computer to tell it where to find the pictures.
Then, your computer puts them on the page.
This is an important concept to grasp because, as we have seen, computers are fairly stupid and interpret the letter of the law, not the sense of it. So, your directions have to be fairly accurate.

<IMG SRC="images/flowers.gif">

IMG SRC stands for image source
images is the name of the directory where the picture is stored.
flowers is the name of the graphic file
.gif is a "file extension". It tells the computer what kind of
file "flowers" is.

The World Wide Web works with two different kinds of graphic files:
.gif and .jpg
