After completing a very demading architectural
quilt, I began "Seahorses" when I was looking for something fun and frivolous to
do. I enjoyed doing a great deal of thread work and freeform fabric manipulations and
beading to complete this piece.
After seeing a partiularly beautiful moonrise one
evening, I was inspired to make this quilt. I began to work on it in January and was eager
to draw a realistic tree for the picture. So I put on my woolies, hat and gloves and all,
grabbed my sketch pad and went outside to draw. It started to drizzle. Although I was game
to try anyway, I found out that day that you just can't draw on paper in the rain.
