The idea here is to stimulate our creativity and get the ideas flowing and the needles flying, by making small quilts or quiltlets centered around a concept chosen at each meeting. We have an number of topics suggested and they are put in a basket and chosen at random. So far everyone likes the selection process, but the first challenge started slow. Only two quilts made it to the meeting on our first try, for the "Awakening" challenge, and neither of those were finished. But we are getting better, and some latecomers made it into the Awakening challenge. "Chaos" seemed a popular theme, as did "varmints". The rules are simple. Work with the concept, it can be any size, but small pieces are encouraged. They do not have to be finished, but they should be far enough along to see how the the theme has been included.
Below are the results of the most recent challenge, "Dancing". So far, not one of the most popular, but we hope some more will trickle in by the time we have our next meeting. Links to the previous challenges such as "Varmints" and "Chaos" can be found at the bottom of the page.
