on the Road to Tennessee

The quilt was done as a challenge. The requirements were to use the Road to Tennessee block and the black fabric. I have combined this block with the "54-40 or Fight" block. The quilt was first shown for the challenge without the border and took a blue ribbon. After the challenge, the border was put on and it hung in Knoxville at the Dogwood Art Festival and took second place. This year I was lucky enough to have it hang in Paducah at the AQS show. The quilt is made of scraps except for the black and yellow and it was fun to arrange the different colors.
