Dragon and the Wizard

There is a crooked man they say
Who lives in a Secret Glen
He has the spells and magic books
Of a Wizard or maybe a Wizards friend
They say the stick he carries
Is mighty as can be
It has powers of Destruction
Or the calming of total Peace
I find this so impossible
I simply can't believe
A stick has any powers
Past the burning for your heat
The tale goes on to tell us
Of a battle in the land
One of a mighty Dragon
And this simple Wizard man
They say he fought the Dragon
With only book and stick in hand
He mumbled words unknown to us
And pushed back fire with his hands
Now I looked at this old man
Who was telling me this tale
And I started to remove from him
A glass of the Establishments finest ale
He seemed so very wise at first
Now he spoke with all the flair
Of a master Story Teller
I met once at a roaming County Fair
He went on to assure me
What he spoke was total truth
For he was the Wizard man himself
Who battled the master Dragon
With master cunning and expert slueth
He said that he could teach me
All the magic that he knows
And I could be the one to carry out the fight
Against the Countries Foe's
I sat in the awe I felt
As I looked at this Regal man
And wondered if I could do this Deed
Of killing all the Dragons of the Land
Would magic be enough I thought
To protect me from the Beast
Or would that stick he carried
Even help me in the least
Now I was born of honesty
I could never tell a lie
So believe me when I say
This Wizard man had me Mesmerized
I think he cast me with a spell
He did it so very easily
With only the boldness of his Dragon tale
we sat there and I begged him
To please tell me more
But he just said "come follow
me"
As he headed towards the door
I guess I don't need to tell you
How this story of mine ends
Lets just say you don't see Dragons
When your walking with your friends!
