What is Delusions of Grandeur?
Delusions is a general Star Wars fanzines that highlights many aspects of the Star Wars genre. We are looking for original stories, poems, and filks that focus on a Galaxy Far, Far Away. Material can cover the entire timeline-From Episode I to well past the novels.
We welcome and encourage new writers and artists to contribute to the Delusional process. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at piranhapress3@hotmail.com.
Material should focus on the accepted canon characters from the four films. Alternate universes, missing moments, and original fannish characters and situations are welcome as long as the canon characters are not merely walk-ons. Sexual situations are fine, but no slash or gratuitous violence.
We ask that you remove and/or refrain from posting any submitted material on the internet for one year following the release date of the zine. Remember that the editors can't sell the book if the content can be found on the internet. We don't want zines to become extinct, but that's exactly what will happen if this common courtesy is not observed. It's in your best interest as well as ours.
It is also common courtesy that you submit your contribution to only one zine at a time, and then allow the editor a reasonable amount of time to make a decision. This avoids confusion between editors and also prevents unwanted feeding frenzies for stories.
How do you submit material to Delusions?
Material may be submitted on a 3 ½" diskette in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, or ASCII formats. If you chose to send your work via standard mail, please be sure to include a printed copy of your material incase the disc is damaged en route. Material may also be sent via the internet to piranhapress3@hotmail.com.
Poetry, filks, and short vignettes may be handwritten as long as they are neat and legible.
Artists are strongly encouraged to send good quality photocopies rather than originals as the post office is a notorious black hole. Many a fine bit of art has been forever lost in the bowels of that governmental institution. However, if it is necessary to send original artwork, the artist is STRONGLY encouraged to send it via a traceable delivery service (UPS, Fed Ex). Delusions will reimburse the artists for the expense.
Please use common sense when packaging artwork! Line the package with stiff cardboard, use a waterproof envelope (Mylar) if possible, and write "DO NOT BEND" on the outside. Remember the "black hole" from the above paragraph?
The Editing Process
