In this fast paced world, we all have to sit back occasionally and look at the world that surrounds us.

I am thankful I have my family ( past, present and future ), my extended family, and my friends. If these don't keep me busy ... my crafts, pets and bowling fill the empty gap.

Life is too short not to enjoy all that there is.

I say ... my family past as I am trying my hand at genealogy, my family present because without them there is no future, and ... family future as I have been  blessed with a beautiful grand-daughter and 2 handsome grand-sons of my own.

My extended family includes the many wonderful children I have had the honour of looking after over the years AND the wonderful international students that have stayed with me while learning the English language. To me these students are a very brave lot ... leaving their families and their homeland to study one of the most difficult languages to master. We have many good memories and it's always a sad day when we part.

The number of friends I have met throughout my schooling, working, child-raising, sporting activities, and now the internet are too numerous to mention.
