Ricky Martin was always destined for stardom. At age six he was starring in T.V. commercials in his home country of Puerto Rico, then, at the age of twelve, he joined Latin pop group "Menudo" for five years. After Ricky had left Menudo, he moved to the U.S.A. to complete his schooling. There he became a member of the cast of the hit American soap, "General Hospital".
Even as a child, Ricky Martin wanted to be an artist. At the age of six, Ricky was starring in T.V. commercials, and at age twelve, he became a member of Latin pop group, "Menudo".
Indeed, Ricky was always going to be a star. From the age of twelve until he was seventeen, Ricky was apart of "Menudo", one of the most popular Latin American groups in the 1980s. After that, Ricky starred in the soap "General Hospital", where he played orderly - turned - bartender Miguel Morez. After his success in “Menudo” and “General Hospital”, Ricky took his talents to the stage where he played the role of Marius (a student radical) in the hit Broadway musical, “Les Miserables”.
Vuelve was the international hit album Ricky had been waiting for. His three previous albums are: "Ricky Martin", "Me Amaras" and "A Medio Vivir". Ricky has just released his fifth album, Ricky Martin, which will be the first English album he has ever released.
So he has been in a world famous pop group. He has been in one of America’s favourite T.V. soap operas. He sang the theme song to soccer’s World Cup (France ‘98). He has even won a Grammy music award for his worldwide smash hit album, "Vuelve", and he has just released his latest album, "Ricky Martin". Is there any stopping this guy? Let's hope not!!!
