Women's Alliance for Peace and Human Rights in Afghanistan (WAPHA) condemns the Taliban's reign of terror in Afghanistan. Under the Taliban edicts, which is a misguided interpretation of Islam, women and men are stoned to death on the suspicion that they may have allegedly committed adultery. Women are flogged publicly for the slightest deviation of the Taliban's imposed strict dress code. The Taliban mutilate people on the suspicion that they may have allegedly committed thievery. They beat, torture, arrest, incarcerate, people on the suspicion that they may allegedly support the opposition groups and for the slightest deviation of the Taliban's edicts. They beat Afghan men with whips, chains, steel cables and various other inhuman tools of torture, either for not having a beard or trimming their beards!

The Taliban's gender-apartheid policies denies the Afghan women the right to work, education, economic viability, freedom of movement and expression. The Afghan women, their children, and dependents are suffering poverty, hunger, and malnutrition. They are facing starvation, disease, and death! WAPHA condemns the Taliban's recent massacre of more than 100 innocent women, children and men at the villages of Qazelabad and Qul Mohammad, in the northern of area of Afghanistan, near the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. WAPHA condemns the Taliban's acts of murdering, arresting, torturing, imprisonment and harassment of the minority groups in Afghanistan. We are dismayed that the most devastating violations of human rights are taking place in Afghanistan with international impunity!

We appeal to you, the world community, the United Nations, and the United States government to stop the Taliban's reign of terror, cruelty and injustice in Afghanistan. We appeal to you, the world community and the United Nations to put an end to the suffering and misery of the heroic people of Afghanistan. We appeal to you, the world community, the United Nations and the United States of America to defend and protect the Afghan people human rights under the treaty for the protection of human rights.

The International community, The united States government, and multinational corporations must hold the Taliban accountable for the violations of the Afghan people's human rights. We urge the United States government, and the international community to withhold recognition of the Taliban, their access to the United nations seat, and economic transactions. The Taliban must stop their reign of terror, gender-apartheid policies, oppression of the Afghan people, and cultural genocide in Afghanistan.
