Orange and Silver Comet :

Tier: Rob Blomquist

How, when and where to fish:

This is a Pacific Northwest Steelhead pattern. Being a sparse, smaller pattern it would be fished down and across in clear water on bright days

The Pattern:

Hook #4 Mustad 36890 TUE black salmon hook
Thread Hot Orange
Body Lagartun Medium Silver Round Tinsel
Hackle Collar: Hot orange
Tail :Hot Orange Calf tail, tied long,1-1.5x body length
Eyes Medium Bead Chain

.Tie 3 to 4 wraps of body, before tying in tail to give tail 30-40 degree inclination. The Comet is an open pattern, with only the basic pattern standard. The pattern can be tied with any variation of body materials, hackles, with or without eyes. This Orange/Silver Comet is possibly the most common variation.
